But dat 4-speed automatic transmission and drum brakes in most models.. :fulloffuck:

They could have at least updated that a bit and made it the same across the board.. why not 6AT/6MT and four wheel disc brakes for all the models?

$$$$$

Will the average c-lai in Richmond know the difference between 4 speed and 6 speed?

Timpo 10-02-2013 04:19 PM

They should bring Japanese Kei cars

LP700-4 10-02-2013 04:19 PM

Saw a white S model today. Actually looked pretty sharp with the dark wheels and HID's. Now if only they came up with a better motor and transmission. Making progress i guess.

Timpo 10-02-2013 04:22 PM

^??? HID?

You mean LED

Mr.Stubbz 10-02-2013 04:31 PM

i think toyota did a better job restyling the corolla than honda with the civics
i mean, what the hell is up with that david coulthard back end

No i did not mean LED because i didn't know because i dont go on wikipedia and research random japanese cars that nobody know about then come on revscene and say they should import this and that.

But yes LED headlights.

Timpo 10-02-2013 04:44 PM

yea, their new front fascia is very clearly a evolution of their previous one but the chrome frame thingy makes it look so much more aggressive

thumper 10-02-2013 06:03 PM

saw one like this just now:

http://www.worldcarwallpaper.com/wp-...-wallpaper.jpg

couldn't shake the feeling that i've seen those wheels before and then i remembered this:

http://www.joelfeder.com/wp-content/...8-1024x768.jpg

toyota recycling at it's worst.

if you have forgotten or don't know the lexus hs250... don't worry you're not alone.

Timpo 10-02-2013 06:31 PM

^ do they share same platform?

As soon as I saw that white Corolla, the first thing that popped into my mind was 'Jetta'.

supposedly no... the hs250 is based on the toyota avensis:

... i'm still at a loss as to how toyota took something as nice as the avensis and then beat it with an ugly stick to get the hs250. (useless trivia: the hs250 is still being sold in japan but it now has that fugly lexus corporate grille)

Timpo 10-02-2013 06:50 PM

^ this looks so much better

Ride 10-02-2013 08:06 PM

Regardless of how it looks, it's still a corolla and it's still gonna attract the same old slow and shitty drivers

I just got one :okay:
Looks alright. I think the 2012/2013 look better. Interior wise somethings are better some are not. But really you cant go wrong all electronic options, heated seats and a car that needs an oil change every 10,000-15,000kms and will give you little to no problems that costs 18-20k

lilaznviper 10-03-2013 03:38 PM

wish i can put the interior of this gen into my last gen corolla

the 4speed auto is bullet proof and has been used for generations. i guess thats why they continue to use it. It would be nice to have even at 5 speed auto

Timpo 10-03-2013 03:59 PM

I still think they should bring the Honda N One. :fullofwin:

0.66L NA 3cyl, 58hp, 47lb-ft
3.7L/100km combined (FWD)
4.0L/100km combined (4WD)

0.66L Turbo 3cyl, 64hp, 76lb-ft
4.3L/100km combined (FWD)
4.5L/100km combined (4WD)

Akinari 10-03-2013 04:37 PM

Yes Timpo because people want to drive 60 horsepower cars in North America that can barely hit 100km/h...

The only thing the new Corolla has going for it is really just standard LED headlights, first and only in its class, but really it doesn't really matter...

yray 10-03-2013 04:59 PM

4wd drive... interesting

GotRice? 10-03-2013 05:55 PM

lol 4WD on a 64 hp car... kinda reminds me of what Jeremy Clarkson said about Veyron compared to the Carrera 4 hahahaha...

twitchyzero 10-03-2013 07:25 PM

assuming 50/50 symmetry...12bhp/wheel :fullofwin:
