So you expect the police to keep operating on a faulty system forever? The most effective method of attack is not letting your enemy know where you will attack from. And what does it matter anyway, whether it's a marked car or not, you will be ticketed for a violation.
Simple stuff.
Isn't the point of police on the roads, to make roads safer? Everytime you see a marked car on the highway, everyone slows down and does the speed limit. The only point of ghost cars is to write tickets to generate revenue to pay for those bullshit ghosts cars in the first place.
Saying stuff like "the most effective method of attack is not letting your enemy know where you will attack from" is just retarded. The general public aren't the enemy... Cops are supposed to be out there to "serve and protect" the general public, not to hide in ghost cars, bushes, behind bus stops, light posts, etc. and write tickets for going 15 over with the flow of traffic. Ghosts cars are only useful for collecting money, that's all
Do they ever use these ghost cars to other uses rather than writing up speeding tickets? Serious question.
Depends.
RCMP Burnaby has Chevy Tahoe's & Surburbans for when they do busts (grow ops/crack shacks). Otherwise I rarely see the surburbans out, but the Tahoe's are always out and about.
For more specifically the weird/fancy undercovers. They're mainly for speeding tickets, traffic violations.

yeah I meant the more unxpected Ghost cars (ie Subaru/Hyundai etc) unlike the unmarked Crown Vics/Tahoes and other domestic fleets
Don't forget boys and girls, if you were breaking road laws by speeding or not using a signal, who cares if it was undercover or not? You took a chance and got caught. No right to complaining. Posted via RS Mobile

A lot of the cars they use were either donated by a dealership or were confiscated for some such reason.
And guess what... pulling people over for excessive speeding and doing unsafe lane changes is "serve and protect"ing.
Seriously?? I was always under the impression that on-duty police were NOT allowed to advertise for private businesses as it's a HUGE conflict of interest, advertising includes stickers and license plate frames.
That's messed.
Yeah, I've been under that impression as well. That said, because it's super easy to spot a regular cop car from a far off distance while driving the Coquihalla, I guess they figured they needed a new tactic to blend in a little better. Only reason why I determined it was a cop was because I was pulling up behind it just past the Summit while driving towards the sun and could see the chicken wire and light bars through the tint as a result.
It's about goddamn time. I had this idea about 10 years so. Have it fully dressed up as a taxi, and the phone number on the side would be for the non emergency RCMP phone line. I'm a genus Posted via RS Mobile
are you a genus in a Biology or Mathematics?
In biology, a genus /ˈdʒiːnəs/ (plural: genera) is a low-level taxonomic rank used in the biological classification of living and fossil organisms
In mathematics, genus (plural genera) has a few different, but closely related, meanings: Orientable surface, Non-orientable surfaces, Knot, Handlebody or Graph theory

they can pull people over for excessive speeding and doing unsafe lane changes in marked cars just the same lol... my point is, the only reason they have ghost cars is to write more tickets = generate more revenue. If their number 1 concern was safer driving, they would have to implement better driver training and testing. Maybe we would see a re-test for making sure people are still driving and obeying the rules. in the current system, once you get your class 5, you are good for the next 40 years... not to mention all the people what shouldn't even have a driver's license to begin with

Wow, a 3rd person who didn't get the joke. Refer to my Simpsons post above.
I REALLY have to simplify for revscene. I often forget this Posted via RS Mobile
