Vacations and World TravelVisiting our beautiful city? Come stay at the Arbutus Vista - Vancouver's Bed & Breakfast.

I'll be going to Chicago around the beginning of July and was wondering what are some things to do there and places to see that are really worth going to for any of you who have been before. Also any good clubs worth checking out especially for house music? I'll be staying there for around 4 days..
- catch a cubs game at Wrigley field
- Willis tower observation deck
- Architecture canal cruise/tour
- Art Institute
- If you've got cash to burn, check out Alinea for food (reservations are hard to come by)
If you're into going to observatories... I'd suggest John Hancock Tower over Willis, I've been to both. Hancock tower had a nicer view in my opinion, and it also has a bar up top (albeit the drinks are obviously expensive). Less touristy too (as most choose it over Willis).
And of course you have to check out Cloud Gate (the gigantic chrome jelly bean).
eat their hotdogs and ride on the architecture river cruise. If you're into archi and art, its a great city to browse around. Other than that, its quite boring there. I have a lot of family in Chicago and have visited 4 times, lets just say i'd rather stay in their house and have long boring chats.
Portillo's Portillo's Portillo's...Why can't we have a portillos?
Sorry didn't want to jack the thread, but just wanted to ask if anyone knows Northshore Chicago? My sister and 2 year old nephew will be moving there soon and just wanted to ask if anyone knows the area for places to take my nephew to like for day time toddler recreational classes etc. TIA!
Digging out this thread in order to keep for easier future reference for everyone.
Heading to Chi-town for some work for 2 days in 2wk time. Likely to be cold as fuck. What's recommended?
I'm between the loop/Lincoln Park area. Not my first time there, so I've been to the major ones like deep dish pizza, the cloud gate... etc already (all in summer though). So, anything new lately, places worth going in the winter as well as joints that you ALWAYS go whenever in Chicago would be appreciated.

since you have been there a few times, won't even bothered doing the top 10 touristy stuff
i just remembered i was totally under dressed; gloves + ear muffs + hat was critical to having a good time.
i did stop by a few jazz bars and it was really good; just grabbed a beer and enjoyed the music.
oh, had lots and lots of popcorn ahhaha
i packed my running shoes and i did run around / but since its so cold, you could rent a bike and just bike along side.
