Not a phone expert, but after reading the article and watching the video, I realized that as consumers we should be looking beyond the current trends and consider these 'alternative' smartphones because chances are Samsung will slip up eventually not unlike Apple and something new might be better.
With that being said, I probably wouldn't buy a phone from Huawei until they are better established in North America. I believe they have established a headquarters in Eastern Canada, but I'd have to do some more research into the reliability of their customer service/warranties before I would get a phone from them.
I'm actually faced with a tough decision in the next week with figuring out what phone I am going to get to replace my Iphone4. I don't really want to get an S4, and the Note2 is already getting kind of outdated since the Note3 is coming out soon. Iphone 5 screen is still too small and it would be wonderful to see Apple come out with Note-sized phones or at least S3/S4 sized ones. In the meantime I still have to consider Nokia, HTC, Huawei, and others. It's going to be a tough choice!

I pick up a note 2 a few weeks and never look back. The Rumor Note 3 will have a bigger screen which I don't really like (I think it said to have a 6 inch display). There is also the Samsung Mega which comes with a 6.3 inch display and the Mega mini with a 5.8 inch display. The note 2 is still pretty decent for me. I would think if you don't like the S4 your only choice would be the HTC which google will release one soon with stock JB on it.
Not sure about Nokia since their phones run on Win 8 so it terms on apps selection you are really limited. If you want a cheap hone now why not get the N4 it is good enough for now and wait till Dec when more phones are release and decide form then?
^ yup.. i picked up a note 2 back in december and im so satisfied with this phone, i never even consider an S4 or any other phone that came out since..
5.5 inch phone is still perfectly pocketable in jeans even though it maybe pushing it..
unless your a woman with a purse, then shouldnt be a problem walking around with a 6 inch phone
as for note 2 getting outdated? its perfectly fine with running without a hitch... quad core does its job for almost everyting. really depends if you need an octo quad phone for gaming, but for me, i turn off all motion features and i rarely use the multi window app feature.. the screen is crisper and higher res than my nexus 7
anything bigger than 5.5 inch size will just be a deal breaker for me.
I went up to a cute chick and asked her if she'd let me take a photo of her for $30 she slapped me, she said to me that "I AIN'T A WHORE!"
But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".
OH FUCK YOU OH OH OOOOH~

relative has an Ascend P2 its actually, surprisingly, for me, a very nice phone the only problem with the p2 is it feels really cheap its thin and plastic so i guess you can't escape that feeling anyway i was really surprised with how much i liked it
and the p6 is supposedly aluminium so that should do away with that cheap flexible plastic feeling
im not sure what the camera/speakers are like in the p6 but they are surprisingly as well in the p2
