I love how you automatically assume I'm discrediting him, its called being realistic.

I'm not assuming anything. Bringing up empty netters? That's discrediting.
I agree the Sedins helped with the goal total on the pp, who don't they help, but what's next? Burrows was never a clutch player. All the Sedins. Some people deserve credit for their point totals. Kes is not Anson Carter.

Disagree. Burrows can be a clutch player, especially in the playoffs. He just needs a little more consistency in his offensive game.
How soon we forget who slayed the dragon in 2011 in round 1.
No.
I admit, his post was written poorly.
But he was saying, what's next if we keep continuing to discredit Kesler's past production?
Do we start to discredit Burrows as well, suggesting he was never a clutch player?
and that Burrows success was ONLY because of the Sedin twins? Posted via RS Mobile

I think that player success in terms of their offensive game related to the Sedins also highlights an area in which the team is lacking.
We do not have any player on our roster who can score goals, and be a game breaker on his own. It's always the sidekick, whether, Anson Carter, Burrows, on the 1st line who can look good because of the twins' Sedinery.
After Pavel Bure, can we honestly say this team has had a legitimate sniper, a gamebreaker recently or on the team now who can score goals at will without the help of a Sedin pass?
Absolutely No. We have no Ovechkin like player, certainly no Teenage Mutant Ninja Hertl. That's the issue.
We have wingers that can learn to complement the Sedins' game. No game breaking snipers.

It's not discrediting, I was just stating the truth, 17 of 41 his 41 were on the PP/EN, they do contribute to it.
He was the greatest benefactor of the whole team that season when he moved full time to the 1st PP. Cause he wasn't gun-shy, obviously more lanes are open/ had some players overcompensate. When his confidence is booming and he knows his shot is on point he'll fire away and score. Didn't take long the season after for defenders to tell what he was gonna do... and after Hoff left too, it was big blow for the PP when everything else stayed the same
He is not a 40 goal scorer, that's the truth, true snipers aren't predictable all the time, but when they are you still can't stop them. Especially after that season he just stopped dishing the puck cause he was so focused on scoring. If he didn't rush himself to return he likely would of hit 30 that season after
And we all know Burrows is willing to go into the dirty areas, and get pummeled and he doesn't mind doing it which is why everyone loves him and he deserves all the credit he gets
Kesler needs a play-making centre because hes definitely not one and his wingers lose out. He is also very predictable. He skates over the blue line and shoots most of the time.

Truth or not, it came across as discrediting to me. That's why I facepalmed. If you didn't mean it that way, well, sometimes that happens when people read other people's comments.

I don't mean to nitpick, but he has scored 40 goals.. so technically, he is. However, I do agree he's probably never going to do it again.

I think Kes goes to those areas just as well as Burr does myself...
Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is, overall, (not directed at you) people seem to quickly turn their backs on players who have done so much for the organization. I can name a bunch of players Canucks' fans have turned their backs on, and I'm sure you could too. I guess I'm just loyal to a fault..

Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

Kesler has potential to be that sniper, but it's not consistent at all to put him in elite tier.
He's a good center for shutdown roles, but a shitty one on offense cause he isn't a playmaker.
We're in desperate need for a legit 2nd line Center that can set up Kesler,
so then we can move him to the wing, and he can focus on all the shooting he wants to do.

Bottom line, Botchford is a piece of shit, slimeball type of guy, even before this incident. The Province is the worst, with Botchford and Gallagher writing for them, Eklund has more legitimate sources then them.
Booth being "weird" was discussed on 1040 a few nights ago and a big part of it was his workout regime
They said you have players like Sedins who do all their conditioning etc appropriately and save it for game day, while they said booth is known to do late night workouts or double workouts even after games and they described it as "show off shape" not game shape and were trying to get him away from that Posted via RS Mobile

That's a brutal suspension, imo. Like some of you said, he put himself in a vulnerable position by poking the puck ahead instead of skating with it. 3 suspensions, 2 injuries so far this year. The hockey gods hate us Posted via RS Mobile
