Torts is definitely going to emphasize the defensive side of the game to the guys based on his comments as per TSN:
"I give them credit," Tortorella said. "It was ugly. We made a ton of mistakes, they made a ton of mistakes, but we found a way to win. That's what I was so disappointed in Columbus about. It was a game that good teams win. We didn't.
"Tonight is another type of game where I think if you're going to get there in the end, you have to win." Posted via RS Mobile
Not if the nucks place Alberts on the waiver first!

John Scott just hit Loui Eriksson straight in the head. I don't understand why the guy is still in the league, what a dirty piece of shit. Rolston seems to be morally questionable as a coach, especially when down in a game.
Grabner got 2 for the same hit on Gerbe last week. I thought that was awfully light given the same hit ended Savard's career and de-railed Booth's career.
If you remember back then, Cooke got nothing because Richards got nothing; the NHL already set the precedent.
Now we see the NHL Department of Player Safety once again drop the ball on the first one and I sincerely hope they don't make the same mistake.
Unfortunately, with the new CBA, any suspensions in excess of 5 games can now be disputed and handled by a neutral arbitrator. Scott, his agent, and the Sabres will undoubtedly point to Grabner's 2-game ban and likely succeed in their case.
As such, I think you'll see an in-person hearing and a 5-game suspension.

Watching the youtube video I can't tell if it's intentional. Scott is tall and Eriksson is hunched forward when contact is made. Scott's elbow is down but it seems to be the elbow that makes contact with Eriksson's head.
Commentators also called it a late cheap shot, but even on slow replay it doesn't look late. It's bang bang from when Eriksson shoots the puck and then the hit.
Well it was about as late as Rome on Horton was. Had Erikkson dangled which it looked like was going to instead of dumping it in, it would have been a perfect hit, and Scott still would have been jumped.
At first I didn't think it was THAT late, but on the replay, you can see Scott doesn't lower and brace for the hit until after Erikkson gets rid of the puck. I don't feel Scott was going for the head intentionally, he was just finishing his check. That being said, it's a fast game and it was a fast play, and Scott is not a fast player.
