Anyone else think we will develop Bo Horvat into an upcoming star then trade him for a draft pick or a prospect again? It seems to be a theme with the Canucks.

Alex Edler is still a Canuck _ Vancouver confirms _ as midnight ET comes and goes and his NTC kicks in. Now a trade would need his blessing

After getting over the initial butt hurt feeling of losing Schneids, I'm glad we got something in return for a goalie vs sticking with Cory and potentially losing Lu for a lot less? Plus our prospect pool is looking a lot better now, something that we've lacked for the past little bit. I was a fan of both goalies and I hope Lu can get over this whole media bs, put the past behind him and take this starter position by the reigns because he definitely still has some good hockey years to give.
Man ...I know those are just projections of our new prospects ..but if they pan out the way they're predicted to
It kinda sucks as a fan to see that every managerial decision he's made recently is digging us deeper and deeper because he hasn't moved on with the fact that no amount of patch-up-work is going to get him his 2010-2011 team back.
If he pulls the trigger on shipping Schneider, I just foresee it as prolonging the dark era ahead.
As a fan, whether the team sucks or wins, I'm still a fan. Whether they miss the playoffs or win the cup, I'm still a fan. And as a fan I have to say that I've been thoroughly entertained in the past week by all the ongoings, and can't wait to see what kind of lunacy July 5 will bring. Let's keep things real and light here, I still have to go to work the next day even if the Canucks win the cup. Ultimately they are just entertainment. Yeah, I've managed to detach myself emotionally from the team, and at the end of the day remember its just a game--bunch of guys chasing around a rubber disc on ice with knives strapped to their skates.
Call me sick, but I also get my entertainment jollies from all the fans (nobody here in particular) jumping to forgone conclusions with panties tied in a knot and crucifying every deal our team makes. Oh what a great city we live in lol. Yeah I think Cory could have been worth more than a #9 pick if the decision was made earlier to make him available (like during the season, at the deadline), but we weren't supposed to get swept out in the 1st round. Given the circumstances, I don't think we got 'fleeced' on the deal
im not going to blame gillis for the luongo contract. the more i hear about aqulini's hand in the team the more it seems that he was the one that insisted a long term contract for loungo and the one that more than likely created the pressure to start throwing schnieders name around at the draft. aquilini showing up at lu's fla home before the trade today, only helps support his role in this whole thing. he needs to stay out of the gms way, otherwise we'll have a philadelphia situation on our hands
I have trouble believing Aquilini can't afford Lu's buyout, esp when it was likely Aquaman who gave Lu the lifetime contract (since MG vehemently denied giving the Sedins wanting a lifetime contract the season before saying he does't believe in those deals).
Kevin Weekes would make a great GM following in the footsteps of Garth Snow. Then we wouldn't have to listen to him on HNIC any more.

#boldmoves indeed
My thoughts exactly, too many armchair gms. Luongo shot himself in the foot, he was focused on Florida too much. It was either trade luongo for another ebbett or trade schneider and get more back. Edmonton backed away from the deal so not much you can do.

He could if his wife isn't going to take half his money lol Posted via RS Mobile
Bettman actually made me laugh. He don't give no fucks about the haters
Stern at the last NBA draft was even better, trolling the crowd the entire time
At one point they were booing him, and he goes "you know, we tell the international audience that booing means you like someone " then they all started cheering for him
He later got a standing ovation on his final announcement ever
