edler out for a while but maybe this is a blessing in disguise. guy has been horrible for most of the year. maybe this will serve as a nice "reset" when he gets back.

VANCOUVER - Vancouver Canucks defenceman Alex Edler has been sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
Assistant coach Glen Gulutzan said Thursday that Edler, who played Tuesday in Nashville, is out indefinitely.
Andrew Alberts, who has been used sparingly this season, will replace Edler on Friday night at home against Nashville.
Edler has produced three goals and six assists this season while averaging 23:26 of ice time in 27 games. Coach John Tortorella has criticized him for inconsistent play recently.

When edler plays a physical game you can overlook his short comings but it's gotten to the point where you think of him as the 2nd pairing guy at best Posted via RS Mobile
I'm not sure if this was always an issue, but it seems like he lost any semblance of hockey sense after the 2012 season. The GTG against LAK where he went to hit a guy already being handled by his D partner (Bieksa?) and left the front wide open was just amazing to watch. Toss in the stupid shit from the WHC this past summer and it makes me wonder if he's all there upstairs.
Either he's gotta relax, or totally dumb down his game because he's not thinking right out there.
When Edler is on his game, he's really fucking good.
It's like what team 1040 said...most good players or elite players, they have a floor and ceiling, and they perform within that range. But edler seems to have a fucking low ass floor because at some night, he plays like Alberts.
Bought tickets to the heritage classic. $240 a piece, but whatever... been wanting the canucks to do one since they first started with edm and mtl. Yolo lol. Posted via RS Mobile
