Lol i remember the Kopitar draft clearly. The entire tsn panel couldn't believe kopitar fell that far down being picked up by the Kings. He was rated #1 euro skater.

Even if we'd drafted Kopitar, we were too deep at C and he would have gotten buried... our team never takes risk, the market is too big here... you can only get away with that in rebuilding towns or teams with less media. Let's face it, the ONLY standout star rookie we've ever had was Bure. We've inherited anyone else who was great in trades or taken like 5 years to "ease them in" like the Sedins.
That said, I honestly don't understand how Stan Smyl still has a job. How can you go to your performance review every year and say your track record has improved? LOL

Before the age of the goalie mask Quote:
This face belongs to Terry Sawchuk [wrote LIFE], a 36-year-old goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Re-created here, by a professional make-up artist and a doctor, are some of the more than 400 stitches he has earned during 16 years in the National Hockey League.

Pretty brutal effort by Paterson in net for Canada, couldn't stop a thing and got embarrassed twice in the S/O. I expect Fucale to start next game.
