How much for tickets in Boston? | We paid 240 for the seats, row 19 in the lower bowl. Wicked view. Funniest part was face value was 70 each, but we bought them off stubhub and that was cheap anyways.

Shortly after that a fight broke out in the stands the section beside ours. Some drunk as fuck Boston fan apparently pissed off fellow Boston fans, and fisticuffs ensued.
This was our view for the game

I've accepted this since draft day. Was hoping that they would move edler for something. and the youth starts to play
Then you realize that maybe that wasn't a good idea..becuz Jensen and Gaunce isn't playing too well down in the farm...
rebuild is the only way..and u do this now...because its looking very much like John Ferguson Jr. and the Toronto Maple Leafs a few years back with all the NTCs...

Gaunce is in the OHL still.

Gaunce has been playing very well in the OHL. 55 points in 48 games and a huge + while primarily performing a checking role.
Jensen struggled early after suffering an injury in pre-season, but has been playing better of late. His stats are still pretty underwhelming, though.

When was the last time a playoff team packed it all in to rebuild? I am curious.
Im not arguing for or against a rebuild or how things are going right now... just trying to start a conversation.
For how absolutely shit the canucks have been playing for the last month and abit, they are still in the upper half of the league. There are a bunch of perennial playoff teams who are below the Canucks in the standings including Detroit! LA has won 1 game in their last 10. Should they blow the team up too?
If we did decide to blow the team up, in the current NHL era where signing top notch FA's is next to impossible... in 3 years, would the Canucks be in a better spot than they are now? Can a bunch of unproven kids, only 1 being a top 10 draft pick, make the team a cup champion team? Even if some how we had the best GM in the league who every other GM was calling every day to make lopsided deals with. Or will they end up in the same position as they are now, because it takes more than blowing the team up to get to the level of Boston, Pits, Chicago, Anaheim, San Jose, etc.
Sometimes the good teams are the good teams because everything fell together at the right time. player skill, age, chemistry, coaching, mix of veterans, big money superstars, contributing young players, other teams level, injuries and luck.
It is hard to argue the Canucks don't need to make some changes. But I dont think there are alot of teams lining up to take our garbage players and salaries for their better younger cheaper guys. The league doesn't work like that. Maybe we can make some sideways changes, but I don't see any blockbusters happening that change the whole team dynamics. That being said, LA built their team that way, so it might be possible. As for tanking for a draft pick, we aren't going to hit the bottom, so going from a #16 pick to maybe a #8 pick? That isnt going to win a cup either.

^The quick answer to your first question is almost never.
Just ask Edmonton and Calgary and to a lesser extend Ottawa. But Ottawa atm is doing a masterful job at retooling (note: not rebuilding). They have what's regarded as the deepest pools of prospects in the NHL. That's something the previous 2 teams can't claim.
If the Canucks were to continue to toil and "try to make the playoffs", they're left with mid-late first round picks, aging players, and likely no Cup. They're in a good position both roster and position to work some youth into the system and fast-track development. It's been sorely lacking with this team because they've been so good/deep for so long. Now that the window is all but closed, they need to start thinking short/long-term future and not make the same mistakes Edmonton and Calgary made after their runs.
Regarding your "LA should blow up team?" question: The difference with them is that they have a younger team. Look at their studs: Kopitar, Carter, Richards, Doughty, Quick, and technically Brown. If you include their young but almost as good players like Voynov and "almost-there" players like Toffoli and you can see that there's no reason to blow it up "Philly-style". They just need pieces. The Canucks need a ton more.

I'm 100% against tanking, for the record.
MG made this a good spot for FAs to sign decent contracts by making it a competitive team. If you're in rebuild mode, it's very tough to sign good FAs and acquire good players via trade (most good players have NTCs/NMCs and don't want to go to a losing team).
Pittsburgh has been the only team to successfully build off of multiple years of tanking and, uh, they got Malkin and Crosby in back-to-back drafts (Crosby being the lottery pick during the lockout, so they didn't even really tank to get him). Last I checked, those players don't come around very often.
Chicago was bad for 2 years, got Kane and Toews. However, they didn't finish last in any year. They also didn't become a contender because of those 2; it was because of their depth through late-round draft picks (and getting Patrick Sharp for nothing from PHI didn't hurt either) that made them a real contender. Same goes for most competitive teams.

Swiss female goaltender Florence Schelling's mask for Sochi
The Swiss by far have the best masks so far. None of the Canadian mens goalies have shown their yet.

Gallagher: There's hope for the Canucks, but it only comes via trade Gallagher: There's hope for the Canucks, but it only comes via trade
interesting read
Consider for a moment if this team could, for argument’s sake, get into the running for a player like Thomas Vanek, i.e. a winger who could score and would have a chance of playing well with the twins in their years to come in this uniform.
That would give this team a sniper to play with the Sedins, something they’ve never had before, something to actually encourage them as they head into the twilight of their careers. Then you would have Ryan Kesler centring a second line with Zack Kassian and Alex Burrows or Chris Higgins, depending upon who was playing better. Bo Horvat would centre the third line with Higgins or Burrows and Hansen with Tom Sestito to start whatever you’re doing with your fourth line.

They haven't had their cycle game going for two fucking years. Posted via RS Mobile | Contrary to their current state, their game is based on two things- intelligence/hockey IQ and puck-protection.
It took the league almost 10 years to figure the Sedin game out. Now that other teams have caught on (be it by pure athleticism/skill of the new breed of players coming up or just plain tape work), the Sedins are less effective (though just remember how well they were playing prior to re-signing their next contract).
The reason why the Sedins are so well-respected and were able to get so good was their drive to become better. Whenever they discovered "flaws", they hauled ass in the offseason to get better at it. The problem is that the last 2-3 years have posed shortened/non-existent off-seasons for training. With a full off-season of recovery and training, I have no reason to suspect that they will just all of a sudden quit trying to get better.
If they were to somehow able to get somewhat healthy, I think you can safely expect 70ish points from now on. If you give them a bonafide elite sniper, you'll maybe get 85 points. Age has no real effect on intelligence or puck protection, so I don't think it'll be a "traditional" hockey player drop-off with them.
The caveats to my thinking are:
1. Daniel's hockey IQ may have been affected by his concussion.
2. The twins will always put the team first, even if that means they should be resting injuries to get back to 80+ percent. Quote:

It's really too bad that he can't make it. I was basically drooling at the prospect of him and Crosby playing together (or even him and Tavares). Unfortunately he may not have another shot with the next Olympics in Seoul and no NHL player participation guaranteed yet. But good for him for being realistic.
How does Yzerman pass St. Louis now in the hallways and not pick him. I see him pulling a veto on all of Hockey Canada to get him on. He's been absolutely on fire since being snubbed.

I just don't understand why Henrik thinks he is helping the team by playing hurt. Valk said it right during the Detroit game intermissions. Torts needs to tell Henrik to not play games and give his rib injury time to heal.
He was not effective at all in the Detroit game. Took one faceoff. Could not shoot from the backhand. If you have torn cartilage in your rib area, then you need rest.
There's no ironman streak at stake. Although Henrik wants to help the team by playing even if he is less than 100%, Torts should tell him that he's not playing. He's a tough guy who can take the pain but is it the smart thing to do to play hurt?
Why take the risk of aggravating the injury from an opposing player's bodycheck?
We need him to be at 100% if this team is gonna make the playoffs. Heck, if there was no Olympics happening, he shouldn't be playing and rest to get better.
