Shocked, if anything, I figured Alfie would sign with Sens, then if near trade deadline, Sens weren't looking good, be traded to a top contender for his shot at the cup. This must feel like a total kick in the balls for Sens fans
kind of similar to Sundin when he didn't want to waive his NTC to help his team get assets at the deadline then sign elsewhere lol.. but this time it all happened during off season.

I don't see the reasoning behind Ronald McDonald signing with the Wings at this stage in his career. The Wings are trending downwards while The Hens are trending up so they would give him a greater chance at contending.

He's 40 years old, and maybe he just wants to play with guys like Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Maybe he really enjoys playing the game, and wants to play in a market like Detroit. Lots of things to consider.
Boyd Gordon to Oilers for three years. Oilers will be tougher to play against as they've also added hometown boy, Ference. MacT hasn't made bold moves, but he's helping out his roster.
