He asked for a ban and I guess the gods gave him a time out. He can't really complain when he was basically asking for it and they delivered. I guess his post count will slow down since he got the majority of his posts here.
I have the same feelings as many others here as I want then to win with this core but know deep down its just not going to happen. I hope big changes happen next season. However, I will still continue to cheer them on from my TV. Posted via RS Mobile
meh, duc_evo basically noticed every one of us just complains about what we need,
but have no suggestions if we were in Gillis' shoes.
He threw out some (very retarded) suggestions, but the bottom line is, we're all still complaining,
or listing a bunch of players we would like to see in a Canuck jersey, with no player-for-player trade proposition on how to get them.
Anyway, it's good he's banned, but it really shows how screwed our team is...
Besides the fail storm he deserved, none of us had any better legitimate ideas.
There's really nothing MG can do. And neither of us can think of anything either if we were playing armchair GM.

I think what duc_evo was saying was the core in 5 years time will all be 30 years of age or way passed it. Making our team too old to compete with teams who drafted well and saw the long term needs of their team. MG doesn't see anything but Long term deals with NTC.
But addressing that we need to accumulate talent/ prospects now is important.

Our core is already 30+
Only exception to that would be Edler & Tanev at 27 and 24, but I don't consider them core because they're easily our best trading asset besides Kesler.
Meh, theres a lot of overreactions for this year's team. They werent built for a playoff run this year anyways. They could have made it, but theres been too many injuries, and not enough depth, they wouldnt of gone far. The salary cap restrictions for this year, new coaching system, have also made it more difficult. Yes they are aging, but a drop like this is not strictly due to regression. They have a group of 3-4(realistically 2) solid young forwards coming up to add to the veterans next year(horvat, gaunce, shinkaruk, jensen), it can add a lot of skill, depth and life into the team. Theres also the cap going up, allowing for better depth to be signed, and add to the fact a dman has to be dealt, bringing in something that will help
I don't see the cap going up to help the Canucks. If the cap goes up, it also make acquiring depth more difficult for the Canucks because they have to compete with other contenders in the league to sign those depth players
even if the canucks are a lesser team this year they are still top 50%. they are also likely a team within the top 30% of attractive locations, due to the player personell, and city location. if you factor in the teams that are in the hunt around the canucks position, you will notice most have key players they need to re-sign. sj - stalock, boyle, wingles. chi- handzus. smith raanta. stl- half their forwards are ufa/rfa icl schwartz. both goalies ufa. tarasenko rfa the year after. bruins- smith, krug thornton. pitt- half forwards and d are ufa/rfa, same with tbay. what im saying is probably half of the contenders dont have enough cap after re-signing ppls. scary thing is that la, anah, and col will have cash . @FarhanLaljiTSN: Luongo says he does NOT expect to start tomorrow. #canucks
kind of interesting, he hasnt played in awhile, would be smart to get him some action asap. its also the year in luongos contract where he is able to submit a trade list to the team
woah didnt realize our top 4 D have NTC
and our top line
Santorelli needs to be resigned as well. Sans NTC too
