This may be a long shot but I like Paul Fenton. The Preds have some pretty good draft picks under him and Poile. He's got great experience working under Poile who also produced Ray Shero and he's done a decent job Pittsburgh.
This has already been reported but I also like Jim Benning. Played in Van and also has great winning experience under Chiarelli.
If we got rid of MG a year ago we could've got Jim Nill who is doing great for Dallas
It's no coincidence that Aquilini fired MG today. The deadline for season ticket holders to renew their tickets is tomorrow. Aquaman is desperate to count more dollar bills so he tries to win back fans by firing MG now.
It's all calculated on Aquaman's part to try to take as much of the hard earned money from fans as he can.

He better not mess up this GM hiring.
That's because they're only in it for the money. About time people realized this
gillis was fine, he was rebuilding the team with some solid picks, and college/overage signings. the problem is the owner, aqua pushed for the long luongo contract, pushed for torts. hes too worried about having enough italians on his team over anything else, gillis never wanted torts. this is why owners should be owners, and not try to control gms, reminds me of all the shit al davis pulled, to ruin his team.
"The GM wasn't going to move along with the same coach in place."
Most sport franchise owners are in it for the money... at least Aquilini's invest as well. Who cares what they're like, they'll spend to bring Vancouver the Cup, and profit from it. I personally don't care about their interests (or greed as some may put it), I just want to be there for the parade!

Yes they are, but they don't make it so blatantly obvious.

I think it's a very good IDE but also I think Linden will speak with the players and will also being a key of deciding if Torts will stay Posted via RS Mobile

It's great that the Aquilini's are willing to spend, but if the rumours of micromanaging are true, they should leave the hockey decisions up to management.

Pierre McGuireas GM and announcer for Canucks games
Quote:
Pierre McGuire, an NHL commentator and analyst, knows a lot about hockey. But would he really be the right man for the job?
He is from Montreal and is passionate about the game, but he has security in his job with NBC. He could bring a different element to the team. He won a Stanley Cup ring as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins 20 years ago and hasn’t been employed by an NHL team since before the lockout.
But is the time right for McGuire to move into management? He has a keen eye for talent and a lot of personality.
If the Canucks are already a joke, having Pierre would make things even more entertaining and shut everyone up when he builds us a contending team
Talked to someone close to Trevor recently, the organization has been trying to get him back in for a few years now But He has been focusing on his fitness clubs and would come back when the timing is right Posted via RS Mobile
