There is no rule against the Canucks talking to GM candidates on playoff teams. There seems to be a belief they have to wait for teams to finish their runs before they can be interviewed. But not only can they be interviewed, they can be hired.
Chuck Fletcher was hired in 2009 as Minny GM when he was still with Pittsuburgh during the playoffs.
Leino had such a fall from grace. I remember when everyone was just oozing for him as a UFA. But it's not like it's a novel story. Just this year, Clarkson has 5 goals and 6 assists and carries a cap hit of 5.25 mill.
If Torts is getting fired, I would mind switching up some letters and making it for Trotz!
Lol such a nice way to be fired, not necessarily terminated, just that the contract wasn't renewed. AND offered another position within the organization.
Depending what the position is, I'm sure Trotz will have no trouble finding a job anywhere else in the league.
Personally, I don't really wanna see him in Vancouver but that's just me.
Amazing that Trotz has been with the Preds since day 1, and even helped name the team back in 98'
That's almost as bad as Lindy Ruff getting axed. Ouch!
Daniel said he couldn't lift his head up. He was scared so he didn't move. He felt reassured that his fingers was moving. Left the hospital last night after some scans that showed it was nothing.
Henrik - Finger was a problem in faceoffs. Ribs was the problem for not going to the Olympics.
Bieksa - Believes in this team. Actually all of them do.
Kesler - Didn't demand trade. Love this city. Doesn't know if he needs a specific winger. Coachs/GM job.

Following up on the Byron-Sedin hit last night. There will be no further discipline from the NHL. Penalty on the ice was viewed enough.
Dal Colle or Ehler would be good picks in our range. We'd need some luck with Dal Colle dropping out of top 5, but there's usually a team that does the Patrick White special. Posted via RS Mobile
"Some of the core needs to change, its an evolution of a team, but there's some really good players that are the heart beat of the team that need to be surrounded"

Twitter was saying Ritchie or Virtanen.
Don't think Ehler would go that high??
I'm excited for tmrw lottery draft.
Trevor Linden...first time at this lottery draft as Canucks president...WINS 1st OVERALL PICK!!! I can only dream.
Ehler has an incredible shot and has speed that scouts haven't seen since Bure or Gaborik. Dude is quick and skilled. He's exactly what this team lacks in offensive prospects.
You'll likely hear a lot about Virtanen over the next few weeks because he's a local boy. A lot of scouts have him peg just outside of the top 10
