Lu could be lying to save face, who knows for sure? Only a few people. Like he said, believe who you want, that's the best you can do until both sides corroborate the story.
IMO, what Luongo said is true... BUT.
By him asking MG to specifically try to arrange a deal with Florida or Tampa basically means he was the one that squashed any potential for MG to set up anything else...
Basically, how does Luongo expect an actual trade to surface on the table if he basically asked to make deals with only X and Y team.

for me if there's one thing about MG he's seemingly a man of his word and when he signs players long term with a NTC i beleive he is genuine when he says he wouldnt ask a player to waive it etc. Lu was obviously willing to waive it for the right deal but when you sign a guy that long and give him the keys to the city then turn around and tell him he's #2 I could see a scenario where MG was dealing HARD with FLA/TB to try and appease Lu somewhat for everything
to me the only thing you've got is your word and really there doesnt seem like a player seemingly more trustworthy/straight forward than Lu at least the image he potrays and the way he's handled everything as a Canuck
funny thing is Botchford sent me a message about 1.5 hours after his first and with no reply to me saying "also keep in mind he fired his agent"
so i figured i had least got him thinking about it because before when i challenged him over Gallagher he just linked all these articles and said it's proven

I love how the interview ends: "Right now, I'm in Vancouver, and I'm 100 per cent committed to that" - as he nods his head back and forth.
Winning cures everything. If they make the playoffs, and make a deep run, that will go a long way to putting water under the bridge.
In trying to be rational, Canucks know they dealt with Luonogo and Schinds poorly and Luongo knows he made it difficult for Gillis by shortlisting one state to play in.
For me as a fan, I'm going to enjoy however long we have Luongo, because he is the best goalie this franchise ever had. Guys like him don't come around often. After so many years of crappy goalies, this guy lands, and now this season could be his swan song.

Mind blown at how many Luongo fans there are all of a sudden. 18 months ago everyone (and I mean like 90% of the people on here who now support him) hated everything about him and loved Cory.
For obvious reasons the Canucks management played Schneider to up his value while letting Luu warm the bench with an ipad.
I don't believe this personally. The way I see it if trading Schneider was a viable option before the season started, I think Schneider would have been dealt before/during the lockout and definitely before the trade deadline. MG tried everything and the dog to move Lu but all the compliance buyouts happening certainly did not help improve his chances of making the trade either, and had to move Schneider to get something/anything of value back for an asset.

Essentially saying Lu's version on the matter is a lie Posted via RS Mobile
I don't think it has to be, or will ever be black and white. From Lu's perspective, MG likely never came up to him and said "We have this deal in place with TO where you will go and we will get this and that back. Do you approve?" From MG's perspective, he could have had a deal discussed in principle with Burke/Nonis then tested waters with Lu "How do you feel about going to Toronto?" with Lu replying "I would MUCH prefer to go Florida *wink nudge*"
In this case, Lu did not turn down a trade that was ready to go and MG never asked Lu to waive his NTC. So nobody is actually lying, it's all semantics

we are still here but there's really just no point in complaining anymore . the cards have already been dealt Posted via RS Mobile

Hasn't there always been more Luongo fans? He's proven, whereas Schnieder is not. I still remember listening to the team 1040 when Luongo was dealt here. The dude was a god send to this city. As soon as we had two goalies who could be #1s on most teams, people started taking for granted that we had even one. Look at the Flyers. They've had good playoff teams so many years, but never a good goalie.
