My girlfriend and I had been out east of Chilliwack for a drive taking photos at pretty much every exit. When I came up to Herrling Island the long approach to the turnoff had been cleared of the winter sand just like all the previous exits. The unfortunate exception this time was that the last 25 meters or so and the road itself, not actually cleared at all and were if anything worse than seasonal so when I hit the gravel the car skidded and flew up onto the island where the car teetered for a moment before falling back down onto all four wheels. That caused the only real injury of it too, the girlfriend hit her head when the car came back down. 9 grand later the car was fixed up and driving better than ever thanks to there being next to no OEM parts readily available for the vehicle although the body shop couldn't match the rear bumper colour to save their lives. That didn't get fixed until a tractor trailer rear ended me on Highway 1 the next year.

First car, 90 DA. Guy turning left from the opposite direction hit me as I was going straight through. The damage wasn't too bad, but the car itself was worth very little and it ended up being written off.
Before:
After:
It may be hard to see, but the blue/white thing to the right of the wheel is actually the other car's fender. So sad. Although, it coulda been worse. I was coming back from dinner and decided to drive that car since we were going camping the next morning. If I had decided to drive my MR2, it could've been that car, not the DA.

Some rough stuff there Lomac. I assume you sustained minimal injuries in all those accidents?

No permanent injuries except for the Jetta. It was my first accident and learned right away that if you see a crash coming, don't lock up and brace your arms on the steering wheel. If messes things up badly. Ten years later, my shoulder is still fucked up.

Out of all the threads on RS, I wish to never post a wreck on here
Knock on wood
Hopefully nothing serious has happened to everyone above in terms of health

So rare, in fact, that some harsh VDubber from Germany ended up buying my 3 good rims and had them shipped over. He had been looking for a pair of rims for two years prior to finding my set for sale on the Vortex. |

Accidents from before the car was mine. My parents driving when the accidents happened.
First Accident:
A Mercedes Benz rear ended another Mercedes Benz at 60 km/h. The second driver was completely distracted and didn't brake at all. We couldn't brake in time and rear ended the second Mercedes Benz.
Had to repair most of the stuff under the hood, including replacing a ton of wires that all snapped. Also needed to replace the front windshield which cracked.
Total Repair costs for ICBC: $16,000
Second Accident:
A Jeep rear ends us on the Trans Canada Highway.
Had to repair all physical damage, and replace the convertible roof.
Total Repair costs for ICBC: $11,000
Two accidents costing ICBC more to repair than what we bought the car for, yet ICBC refuses to write it off. ICBC logic.. -_-
Fortunately, no serious injuries for anyone involved in the two accidents.

This happened last Wednesday. First car, had it for 2 months.
Stop light was broken and I didn't see and thought it was green. Was going about 60 km and slammed the breaks but couldn't stop in time.
$9500 of damage, written off. The damage is worse than it looks, the airbag went off. The radiator and A/C need to be fixed. No injuries whatsoever. The Ford F-150 I hit only got minor scratches and dents. |
