Last winter, my mom drove the car around town whilst snow was falling. Due to that fact, the chrome rims are now in HORRIBLE condition . I have been the only one in my family that actually takes the car to washes, and maintaining the car. Now I finally have free time & money on my hands to deal with the situation. Here are some pictures of the rims. Any suggestions on what to do?

Reason: Grammatical Issues
I suggest pm'ing one of the local vendors about this.
Looks like you will need some good product and a lot of elbow grease. Or take it in to one of the vendors to get it done.
I can't tell if it is on the surface or if pitted, but if the latter, there are plenty of products that will take care of it (they're pretty toxic, so u have to wear gloves)
Why didn't you wash them after the snow. It only takes 10minutes to hand wash my rims. Less time if I didn't give a flying fuck and spray them with a pressure washer.

Firstly, based on the title of the thread, it is safe to assume your parents own the car in question. With that being said, why are you bashing your own family, the same family that GIVES YOU permission to drive THEIR CAR which THEY PURCHASED with THEIR MONEY? I find your complaining quite churlish to be frank.
Secondly, it's not your mum's fault that she got "lots of salt onto the rims." Driving on salted snowy roads corrodes all types of wheels to a certain extent. What did you expect her to do, get less salt onto the wheels?
Lastly, I may not be in a position to tell you what to do or how to spend your money, but I will say this: if it's not yours, you have no right to be complaining in the manner you are doing so. In the future when you have a car of your own, I'm sure you will take great care of it, but saying your "parent's don't a f*** about her shoes" only leads others to believe that you should go spend the money you plan on refinishing those wheels on finding an English tutor to polish up your grammatical skills.

What is so contradictory about it?
1) Don't get me wrong, I am gratified that my parents let me drive the car, however I am upset that they ONLY rely on me to maintain the car. That is why I posted on revscene to ask the community for help. I want to fix the rims ASAP.
2) You are right, no one can control the amount of salt that got attracted to the rims. Let me explain myself, during the winter, I was away. When I arrived back at Vancouver, I did not expect the chrome wheels on the X5 to be damaged to this extent. Of course, I am not blaming my mother's ignorants upon this subject.
3) My apologies. I did not know that Revscene placed that much stress on others English.
PS: Yes, I do have the right to complain.

Cleaning the wheels first then showing a picture after its cleaned would help...
This.
Assuming you don't take the family vehicle to a car wash EVERY time, and you actually wash it yourself from time to time, you should already have some sort of rim cleaner already (found at your local Cdn Tire for example).
If not, go out and get a cheap one like Simoniz or the like. I have a strong feeling you'd be surprised at how much of that you can clean off given 30 minutes, a generic rim cleaner, and some elbow grease.

I'll get a picture of the wheels, cleaned, today. It's just that the weather hasn't been great the past couple of days. I really appreciate the people that actually answered my qs. Thank you Posted via RS Mobile
i think the point is, knowing that your family doesn't know shit about cars, why would you expect anything else?
did you think they would have the ingenuity to go out, buy steelies and snow tires just to save those precious oem wheels? or was it 100% likely that they would just drive the car as is, not care or simply not know that damage would be done to the wheels whatsoever?
The wheels also look like they are polished rather than chromed?

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.
