Many expected something special from nine-time WRC champion Sebastien Loeb as he took part in the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb yesterday (30 June), but not many predicted him to completely obliterate the record.
The Frenchman clocked an incredible time of 8m13.878s, becoming the first driver ever to do a sub nine-minute time and beating the previous Pikes Peak record by over a minute and a half. It was also fitting that the 208 T16 Pikes Peak gave Peugeot an Unlimited class win on the 25th anniversary of the French manufacturer’s first win with Ari Vatanen in 1988.

I believe Peugeot spent a LOT of money and it showed. He beat the previous record by over a minute and a half but Millen (who held that record) also beat it and clocked in at 9:03 or something.
Loeb coming 40 seconds ahead of Millen's new best is a great accomplishment. I wonder if some other companies are going to drop some serious cash like peugeot did next year.
i like millen as a driver but loeb is arguably the best driver in the world. with equal cars i bet loeb could still take 10 seconds off of millens times.
Average speed of 145.1km/h vs the old average speed of 122.2km/h. Mind is blown.

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.
it seems peugeot spent all that money on the car and didnt give Loeb a Peugeot specific race suit. He is still wearing his regular Citroen one. I know they are under the same umbrella but if my company built a car that fast I would want everyone to know who built it.

Fuck what a bunch of assholes. I hope the driver would have the "animal on the road" instinct to just plow right through them if that happened, instead of the swerve to inevitable crash into the crowd.

^^This I would imaging is one advantage a Skilled Rally car driver has over other type of race car drivers. They are used to having spectators standing right next to the edge of pavements/track.
