resurrecting this.

do these coatings get slippery when wet? i still haven't done anything with my parents' garage floor, and this weekend my dad's snow packed car defrosted inside the garage and there was a lot of standing water everywhere...

I laid mine on smooth and it gets a little slippery. It's not bad with just water but can be a bit hairy with slush but we hardly ever get snow in Vancouver.

I was going to use some sand in the paint for traction and in hindsight I'm glad I didn't. I'd rather trade off safety for easier cleaning. It's really easy to mop and squeegee the water out the garage door.

If your parent's don't have good balance, I would recommend a little sand in the mix. Or maybe some (temporary) traction aid from the entrance to the car doors and leave the rest smooth if you like working under cars.

Speaking of floor squeegees, just picked up a couple of these at PA. Handles were $2-3.

@ Recon604 do you still have access to these products?

I just took possession of my new place and would like to get the floors done, before the garage gets packed with shit.

Thanks

I epoxy coated my shop floor seven months ago its resistant to oil and solvents but if brake fluid is left standing on it, it will lift. I'm glad I did it as cleanup is much easier and seeing tools on the ground is much better too.

Ground, filled, polyaspaspartic, flaked and cleared. Due to colder temps, I kept the garage heated for a full 7 days before parking my car on it.

I had pros come in and do it. After pricing out the cost of materials, tool rentals, and my time, it was well worth it to have it done professionally. 4 hours the first day and another hour the next day, for the topcoat.
