I don't think the gas is sitting there for months. At most the gas should be sitting there for 3-4 weeks before they order more.

Yea, i thought that's all you need, 91. Unless dealers tune the cars in BC differently, I don't get why people put 94 in theirstock turbo cars. It's not a requirement as far as i know.

I would love to see some independent testing of gas. Maybe we could have a bunch of people pitch in and find a lab and do some testing.

lol i remember back in 2007 when they were saying gas prices were going up to 1.50 people were boycotting gas stations, truckers were going on strikes, people voiced their opinion. Then the recession hit in 2008 and crude prices dropped. But gas prices didn't drop as fast. Our lovely government decided to introduce new taxes like the bs carbon tax at the same time....
now crude prices are going back up and gas prices are going through the roof. but this time around people are saying "stfu and pay it", "gotta pay to play", etc. why? where did this bs mentality come from? what happened to standing up for our selves?

My question is who from the dealer told you this? Most sales men don't understand what octane rating even means.
I believe 91-92 doesn't have any octane either.

you cant boycott/protest a global commodity... I feel sorry for the franchise owners of gas stations who get boycotted/protested as if it's their fault. People are stupid if they believe in that "Hey if we stop buying gas for one day at ___ station they will be forced to lower prices" spam.

My family owns a gas station. We own the property, building and all the equipment. The gas company only provides us with fuel, signs and POS equipment.

We set our own prices legally they can't tell us what to sell gas for. Wholesale prices is something we have no control over and our wholesale prices sometimes change 3 times in a week.

Prices are all the same at gas stations because if one gas station is lower customers will go there and you will lose business. So you have to mach right way.

^^I live pretty close to a Petro Can. and sometimes in the early mornings, one of the attendants would go outside with a pair of binoculars and look two blocks down at the Shell and Super Save. They sure do price match with surrounding stations.

I have a friend who's father owns 9 shells. According to him they don't profit off gas much . Instead most of the profits come from what they sell inside their store like snacks and drinks. Is that true O.O

We make money off gas. Does your friend own 9 stations or does he just manage them for shell. if he is making no money on gas he should look for a different suppler when his contract is up. owning 9 gas stations should give him some leverage when it comes to sign the next contract.

fawk .. gonna have to fill up tomorrow

you guys talking about gas, I used to get chevron 94 until my mechanic told me I was getting a bad knock -- started running shell 91 and it runs a lot better w/ no knocks now. Coincidence or just stale gas?

I was under the impression that Corvette Z06, ZR1 and Nissan GTR as well as Subaru STis are recommended 94 gas as per their owners manual?

I never owned any of the above cars so I cannot verify, but a friend of mine drives a 911 Turbo, and he is fine w/ 91 gas......so weird that stock Vettes and GTRs are tuned for 94s...

We're still much better than Europe. Was just in Italy for a month and gas there was 1.65 Euro which is a about $2.30 here. But people are smart there and everyone drives a diesel and every car comes in a diesel. Although diesel is only 10 cents cheaper the car I was driiving around in was getting 45 mpg through the mountains that had like 25 switchbacks climbing up to 8000ft
