here's an interesting documentary of it and how it pisses off the locals
quite similar scenario here in Vancouver too..

How do we have similar situation? Our import rules are much stricter than EU's (basically it is designed for things like that). You can't load a car up to your jumbo jet and expect not going through our friendly CrappyTire, ICBC etc just for the summer.

Guy drives from the states or somewhere in South America and stays here for the summer should not have to go threw inspection.

Honestly I see more exotics with Alberta plates in BC over the summer than any foreign plates
