Zedbra 08-19-2013 06:32 PM

We weren't sure who was going to venture into the sand first. Phil made that decision easy.

Zedbra 08-19-2013 06:50 PM

Watch how BCJEEP represents. (Spoiler - stay dry, park on a stump, get buddies to admire). Watch how Mazda represents. It was a wtf moment.

No. Its far above any salmon spawning grounds. You will find some river trout tho.

Not exceedingly, I haven't even put a rig in the new 4Runner yet. It's a 1/4 a hobby (who doesn't like gadgets), 1/4 clear trail communication, 1/2 a better way of calling out of the bush when I solo trip. Academically radio and antenna theory, signal propagation, etc are quite interesting to me as well though. I remember when I was a kid over on the island at my uncle's cabin we were able to chat with a guy in Maine one night which was obviously pretty cool and that piqued my interest in it.

We used to go sit up on Skyline Drive or Queen E. and talk skip to guys all over the states on our CBs back in the day... even got a trucker in S. Carolina for a little while once. Knew one guy who claimed he stuck his magmount to a carbide-tip saw blade, set it in the wet dewy grass, and talked to Hawaii. Skip is fun :)

Brianrietta 08-21-2013 04:19 PM

Yeah, it's fascinating. I think my uncle's furthest contact was a lady in Scotland on 10m. He said that it's a good thing that they had a really clear signal because he could just barely understand her accent. :lawl:

murd0c 08-25-2013 12:18 AM

murd0c 08-25-2013 02:53 PM
