official traffic volunteer shirts are being processed this week.
About $200 for total cost with taxes in and all. We will incur costs.
We have your custom names printed so there's no going back!! :P
Joking aside, the traffic volunteers are quite key to the organization and operation of the meet, so we appreciate the work you guys will put into it. So thank you
[we are also looking for staff at DTP 2013, so we'll be headhunting for some reliable and hardworking volunteers to help out at our official RS booth!]

| see y'all tonight? But I assume it will be necessary to wear the shirts at all times during the meet? A rugby jersey I bought with the Mazda logo came in early and I planned to wear that as well, once the main bulk of traffic duty is finished. Posted via RS Mobile |

Hey guys, an emergency came up and I need to head out of town on thursday and won't be back until next week. I apologize for this however this means I will not be able to volunteer or attend this meet.
I'm very sorry as this is very important that I cannot attend.

traffic team positions :
Team Lead - Raiden
Gate team - dbaz and cornering artist
general/club team - !aznboi128, !e.lo, !shuya80, energy - the ! brothers and energy will oversee general/club traffic . You're tasks will be to take over once they are thru the gates, usher clubs, vendors, sponsors to their spots. As the day go along there will be rotations between gate teams. general, and RS booth when it's needed or situation permits.
RS Booth - Saucywoman and !oHenry
I'll be hovering around the meet coordinating with team leads, and as always we'll rotate accordingly dependent on situation and times.
Communications will be handled via Zello on smart phones. We will also have charges on hand to replenish your phones if needed.
You are all veterans and know what needs to be done. And I again thank you guys whole-heartedly for stepping up again, lending RS your strength, patience and time.

Hermes coloured RS shirts exclusive for Traffic Volunteers are in; Tommy will distribute accordingly tomorrow. Keep as your memorabilia. It has your names stamped on it.
The only other people wearing these shirts are myself, jACE, and the co-emcee, gABE. We do not have our names on them.
All other 2013 RS staff volunteers will have ID tags; traffic team does get (because you have these custom shirts).
enjoy and do your best out there team!!

| Successes/positives
- having a printed out copy of the location of each car club and the roll in times.
- marking out club spaces with chalk
- using those mini pylons to mark out spaces Shortfalls/negatives
- radios next time? Zello wasn't good enough so the people directing car clubs to their parking spots had to run around and shout a lot. It was confusing sometimes because we didn't know if the big group arriving was a club or just general
- general parking spaces close to the entrance were filled before the general parking further down when it should have been the opposite - might also be because of a lack of communication.
- the "one way" only didn't work. If we are going to do this again it should be made clear to all attendees (signs?)
That's what I can think of off the top of my head right now. Communication was the biggest issue for me. It was still really fun though, I can't wait for next year's meet.

i agree with nick on zello being kind of a letdown this time.
as for the inefficient use of the general spots, i think this may have been due also to not having much man-power to cover as much space as i would have liked.
i liked the printed maps idea as well, but maybe more of them?
the mini-pylons were ok, but people kept driving over them instead of around them.. there were many a casualty.
