Monsanto did not buy Academi (formerly Blackwater), its just internet rumors created by anti GMO/hippie/lefty groups to spread panic and try to make Monsanto look bad.
So what if Monsanto hires a third party security firm to gather intel on opposing groups, some of whom want to sabotage and damage Monsanto property to get their way. Private security consulting to corporations is huge business, it happens more often than you think. IMO groups like Greenpeace and PETA are nothing but environmental type terrorist organizations, they resort to damaging property and sabotaging equipment of corporations and individuals whom they don't agree with, so you have to counter that.
yes but to be objective about it... monsanto themselves are environmental terrorists too. they don't destroy things the same way as the hippy groups do. but they infect and spread and destroy other businesses and crops (unintentionally or intentionally).

Nation Magazine Story, "Blackwater Black Ops" Refers to Monsanto and Security Firm
9/16/2010
Background:
Spoiler!
On September 16, 2010, an article titled “Blackwater’s Black Ops” by Jeremy Scahill was posted by The Nation, a weekly journal covering political and social topics. The article includes commentary and quotes relating to a firm called Total Intelligence Solutions (TIS), their connection to the private security firm Blackwater, and services that TIS provided to Monsanto.
Monsanto did not hire Blackwater nor did we approve of the firm infiltrating any groups as was suggested in the Nation article. In 2008, 2009 and early 2010, a firm called Total Intelligence Solutions (TIS) provided Monsanto ’s security group with reports about activities or groups that could pose a risk to the company, its personnel or its global operations. The safety of our people is our utmost priority and we value the communities in which we operate. All information provided by TIS was developed by monitoring local media reports and other publicly available information. The subject matter ranged from information regarding terrorist incidents in Asia or kidnappings in Central America to scanning internet blogs and websites. Prior to retaining TIS, Monsanto specifically enquired about and was informed that TIS was a completely separate entity from Blackwater. Beyond the content of the Nation article, we have not engaged people to infiltrate firms/activist groups and we do not condone that type of behavior.
Jeremy Scahill is a great author though and has won awards for his book regarding blackwater
someone care to explain to a noob who or what a Monsanto is? I have heard of blackwater (something related to Dick Chaney iirc)

Blackwater pays like 1000 a day for people to do high risk, extra ordinary combat work... as regular soldiers are paid less then minimum wage if I heard right.
Monsanto is basically trying to control the worlds food supply (buying up most seed companies, dumping cheap food into markets for farmers to go bust, tainting organic farmer crops and suing them successfully even though they are at fault) and its alien DNA created foods have shown to give animals tumors but they wont pull off the genetically modified DNA food from all the chips, crackers, cereals and probably something that is in your home... off the shelves as people going into hospitals or dying before they reach old age is good for the system.

it's pretty obvious that there are always greater powers that influence organizations below.
i dont care who you are, a regular civilian or a CEO .. business owner or government. there is always someone higher up than you that has leverage over you.
it's a no brainer that there are higher powers that have high influence within these corporations.
as for "blackwater" i have a few friends that have worked for them... lol they hate being called "mercenaries" haha.. "private contractor" is the proper term they prefer... but people always ask what the fuck is that.. the easiest way to explain is... mercenary.
they make good cash. one of my buddies works for an english private security firm and clears about 250-300k a year tax free. some of the stories they have, I just shake my head... it's like the wild west. you can get away with so much shit it's not even funny.
as for monsanto... whether or not GMO are good for you is a diff issue. the main issue people have with monsanto is how it's run and the decisions they make that obviously hurt "innocent" people.
as for them hiring private soldiers to be spies and infiltrate the enemy, sure that's normal from a strategic point of view... but the real issue is deeper than that.
I honestly thought that Nestle just made some wicked tasty iced tea and some other shit. I know their bottled water tastes like a homeless guys ass, so I don't know what goes wrong there.
Blackwater had a good thing going(for them). Their problem was their name became too known. Their anti-al qaeda al qaeda style training camps are second only to al qaeda training camps
Monsanto...I dunno, every once and awhile they could release something nice. It's like declaring peace..confuses your enemies. Maybe give some seeds to Ethiopia or something. Make sure there is a news van there to catch it for the 5 o'clock news.
