If the first dim sum restaurant this person blogs about is Sun Sui Wah, we know it was a big stupid mistake to hire an outsider.
Remember this post. When the blog starts, you'll see. It will be Sun Sui Wah, and she will lie about how good it is.

And guys, thanks for voting for me. I honestly do appreciate it. It's not every day that so many people support you in something you're doing. Seriously, I'm honored.
I don't agree with their chosen marketing plan but hey, there's no reason to slag the other competitors. We have enough shit to be pissed about on the internet...food blogging shouldn't be one of them. Talk shit here if you want because hey, this is REVscene...if someone doesn't like what we say here, they can fuck off. But the other 11 finalists are good people. Half of them have asked me if I wanted to go eat sometime already.
I'm disappointed I didn't win but you can't win 'em all. I'm not pissed about that but there are some things that went down during and after the competition that I didn't appreciate. But that isn't the fault of the other competitors so if you're talking on the Facebook site or Twitter, don't insult the other 11 people. They don't deserve that.

I happen to really like Sea Harbor but they're a little expensive. My friends and I usually go to Ga Lok. Gingeri is decent too. My favorite little ghetto spot with $2.50 dim sum recently closed... |

But it's still the most popular with 'non locals'
The others you mention are good (Sea Harbor has gone down as well though IMO). Gingeri is good but I don't go there for personal reasons (I know the former owners and well for reasons I won't go into here regarding he new owners, I don't go there)

Kirin isn't bad. Doing well lately actually. I have heard sometimes Kirin is booked so full on weekends or special dates they just tell customers to come back the next day instead.

While I understand the logic behind having someone from outside of the city being the one to review restaurants, I don't agree with it. Watch pretty much any food travel show (currently watching Anthony Bourdain, so that's what makes me want to write this), and the host almost always meets up with locals in order to find where the best food can be had. It just makes sense. There are hundreds of restaurants in Richmond, some giant chains, some tiny hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop shops. And unless you know where to look for the latter ones, chances are the person that wins this is going to miss out on some great places.

Unless Linds Eats Cunt was one of their top 3 already, and they pick her, in which case the whole city is a sham anyway.
In any case, whether Ed won the vote or not, they were going to pick one of those boring white girls from ontario regardless. | Yep. Looks like that to me.
Well, on with better things for you Ed.

LOLercopters
Can't believe Richmond Tourisim selected the Gwai Por (I know it's probably best for their own interest) but she'll know JACK SHIT about asian cuisine.
I had a chance to check out her blog to - so fucking hipster. LOL
Guess they had to go that way to appeal to people who are not from Vancovuer & Richmond like your average Canadian & American traveling to Richmond for Tourism.
The Gwai Mui will not hold her weight in any of her opinion for her reviews in asian restaurants. Bitch PLEASE step aside (I ATE MSG more than she ate rice - Chinese slang for me eating salt more than her eating rice)

If I'm visiting Richmond as a tourist, I'd rather read content written by someone else who has done the same thing (another tourist). That gives it relevance. But then to add credibility to the information, it's also a good idea to include insider tips and details straight from a local.

Lomac: it's an old Chinese saying, "I've ate more salt in my life than you have in rice"
Rice is usually consumed on a daily basis and salt of course but not as much. So the elders will say this to generally someone younger that they have more experience in life just because they have been around longer.
Hope this makes sense
