| Eid Mubarak / Eid Greetings to RS!
Hey RS!,
So our fasting month is over and now it's time for festivities, family and fun. I wish you all a very merry and happy Eid Mubarak! May all your dreams, wishes and prayers come true 
For those of you who don't know what Eid is, it is like Christmas but for Muslims to celebrate a successful month of fasting. It is celebrated by visiting friends and family, seeing people that you only happen to see once a year, inviting everyone into your home for conversation, food and just all around fun.
Will be posting annual pic of food table on saturday. lol.

One of my co-workers is really excited this year since hes from Fiji and everyone can celebrate it together when normally it's a day or two after.
Eid Mubarak to all of my Muslim friends as well!!

Excuse my ignorance, is it same time every year? I remember man city vs man utd last season, Samir Nasri scored, had an eid Mubarak message on his undershirt, but that's was < 1 year ago,

I'm not sure how it works but I know some times it falls in the winter which makes things a lot easier with the shorter days.

If I'm not mistaken, Ramadan is based on the Islamic Lunar Calendar and, yes, it can fall at different times during the year.

15 days earlier a year usually, lunar calendar can only have 29 or 30 days, cannot have 31, and the islamic calendar is based heavily on the sighting of the new moon for events like the beginning of Ramadan and the two Eid's.

I loved the years it was in January, December... I was too young but still fasting. So short, almost felt like nothing. for the next 4 years or so it'll be through the summer..

holy crap. I remember seeing a similar thread recently and Eid celebrations a short time ago. So I decided to search.. and it was thread from 2012 I'm remembering.
