This reminds me recent Lotto Max winner...
Some Newfie working in Ft Mac wins 45M, the radio station gets him on the air and asks him what he plans to do with the money, his response:
"I'm going to buy my dreamcar and go on the vacation I've always wanted to take"
So the radio station guys asks him what car and where...
"I'm gonna buy a Corvette and drive down to Vegas"
... WTF... what a loser.

I agree completely with the guy, I've always wanted a 2005 NSX... doesn't matter that it's an older car or not the most expensive thing in the world... I would buy it first thing just to ground myself with the accomplishment of obtaining one of my dreams and staying true to what I had set out as my goals, not just buying whatever I could afford just because I could afford it.

I always think that the comments on news sites(and yahoo..which gets bad comments) must be some kind of joke. There cannot be people that are that dumb.
"Come on man, you are free rich! go waste money on depreciation like the rest of us!"
"You are supporting the japs!"
I'm sure it has nothing to do with where those bastards live. hint: down south from here. In the land of the free. God bless 'em...

how much of that is going to the taxman? | Well, he won 1/3 of $448M, which is $149.3M. He can choose to have it paid out over 30 years ($4.978M per year) or take an $86M lump sum, both pre-tax.
Post-tax, the lump sum total would be $58.3M and the annual payout, assuming the tax rate stays the same, would be $3.375M/year.

I agree though, after paying off all my debts as well as my other family members, I would probably buy the cars and motorcycles that I have always wanted.

I am glad he won, but buying a foreign vehicle is like a slap in the face This vehicle has American made parts, but the most costly parts come from another country. The engine, which runs the vehicle is not American made. The American companies get the profits from American made vehicles and that helps Americans and their jobs. People should research and find out that American made vehicles have the major parts of the vehicle Made in USA and the profits go back to the USA. Honda's profits do not stay in the USA and the costly parts of the vehicle are not made in the USA.

If I won the lottery first thing I'd do is buy a 25 year old M3. Dream cars don't all need to be mp4-12c or aventadors. I'd also buy a white suit, some frogskin oakleys and a shitload of blow and go do it in my weird postmodern house with a ton of sharp angles, giant windows, and a flat roof with a fountain and ferns in the front yard. If I can't buy a time machine I'd just make it the mid 80's.
edit: After watching the vid, I'm super stoked for the guy. Seems pretty grounded, and honestly happy. Hopefully money does't change him.

If I won one third of the Powerball lottery, and took the lump sum payment after tax, I would buy my dreamcar, the 458 Italia, a RR Ghost, maybe an Aventador with a Liberty Walk kit. Luxury and sport all together. -use the rest of the money to invest in real estate and stocks.
Of course, some of the moola would be used to help my family out and to charity. -would also buy a new house.
-cannot spend all the money on luxury and sports cars.

Some americans would say buy domestic, corvette, mustang, cobra, saleen, list goes on...
But at least he wants a nsx so let him enjoy, its his money... He can do whatever he wants.
Go buy 30 prius for all I care...hahah... Maybe he like going green lol...
My choices: jdm nsx-r for weekend cruising, and something more luxury for workdays like audi a7 or e-class coupe. And still have my new suv for getaways Posted via RS Mobile |

I'd like to see the next big Powerball winner go "Fuck ya'll, I'm taking all the money I won and moving away." People gonna complain about buying a used car where the money to buy it will go directly to (most likely) another American or used American car dealership? Let's see them complain about none of the money going back into their economy.
(ps, I'm American... I'm allowed to say this )

Paying off any debts then buying your dream car. Isn't that what most people would do? Can't believe he's getting criticized for it...
