Not used for frequent shopping just for documents once in a while. | Why not just get documents mailed directly to your house? Seems like a strange thing to ship within the US and then forward.

Not 100% sure if this will be your solution but I know someone who has packages forwarded using Chit Chats in Vancouver. Highly recommend giving them a call to inquire to see if they can help do what you're asking. https://chitchats.com/

lol sorry I also mis-read, didn't see Canada->US.
But...my question still stands...get the documents mailed to your house, or your parent's house, or any house in Vancouver, and just ask them to re-mail it to the US...you don't need a parcel forwarding service for this?

US border opening up November 8, but crossing back into Canada still requires a covid test https://www.ctvnews.ca/health/corona...ov-8-1.5624368

Crossed the border yesterday with a valid PCR test.
Relatively painless but I was randomly selected to do a covid self-test once I returned home. Ironically they didn't even ask to see proof of my previous test.
However, finally got all my bits stuck in Blaine since last year so I'll happily stick a q-tip into myself.

Federal vaccination passport can be obtained from the same place you got your BC vaccine document. It just now has a Canada logo on the right corner. You'll need a copy of it (or a picture of it) for ArriveCAN.

Federal vaccination passport can be obtained from the same place you got your BC vaccine document. It just now has a Canada logo on the right corner. You'll need a copy of it (or a picture of it) for ArriveCAN. | I went to Bellingham yesterday. Arrived at Peace Arch at 5:30 am. Wasn't sure how busy the border would be, so just decided to go super early. One car ahead of me and nobody else in sight behind me. lol.
I crossed back at around 11:30 am. I did the usual gas at Costco, Winco, Walmart, Trader Joe's, Harbor Freight, and Costco.
Winco is open 24/7, so that's where I went first. Costco gas station opens at 6:00 am, so I went there next. Walmart, then Trader Joe's since they open at 8:00. Harbor Freight for shits and giggles. Man, I missed shopping at Trader Joe's. Costco has seniors hours, but unlike here, it's 9:00 am instead of 8:00 am. I went Fred Meyers afterwards, but the place was just crazy busy, so I didn't bother going in. I went to Birch Bay Mall to check out the Border Services Office. Planning on going there in the near future for NEXUS interview.
Back to the ArriveCAN. It is awesome. Took a while to register. I nearly gave up a couple of times, but I stuck with it. Good thing I did. If you don't have it when crossing back into Canada, you're gong to be screwed. When I got to the Canadian side, it was so fast. I showed the border guard my passport and that was it. I had my papers (QR code) ready to show them, but the border guard said, "No need, it's all in our system." I put 3:00 pm as the time of arrival and was worried about being super early, but no worries. I called that morning asking if arriving early was an issue and the dude on the other end said, as long as it's the right day, not a problem. Their toll free line is open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm EST, so I called at 5:15 in the morning just before I got the border. I was planning on 3:00 pm, but was worried about border lineups. As I looked over to the other side (southbound). Very little line up. 6, maybe 7 cars.
I guess people were not sure about the process and avoided going.
On the way into the US, I had no problems with the border guards, either. I was done in under a minute or two.
as for the ArriveCAN app, it is pretty straight forward. You just answer questions (yes/no, choices from a list, etc.) and there's even a scan via phone camera for your documents. Passport and Canada Vaccine QR code paper. Now that I have it all filled in, I just update with new arrival time of future trips. I plan on going again Friday or early next week (no weekend, LOL), in case they close the border down because of this new variant scare. Still got some stuff to get from Trader Joe's. Yesterday was just a dry run. I avoided my usual casino run. Maybe I'll do that the next time. Hopefully no flooding...............
ArriveCAN Toll Free Number: 1 (833) 283-7403. 7:00 am - 8:00 pm EST. 7 days a week.
Dude who answered the call in the morning asked how I got the number. He seemed surprised I found it. Anyway, crossing the border isn't as scary as others make it out to be. So go pick up those packages while you can.

Fucking hell............ unless I'm doing something wrong, the app doesn't remember your info from one trip to another. I guess that's a good thing? I just tried to enter info for my next trip and I had to fill in the same info again. However, now that I'm no longer a virgin, the process was way quicker to complete. I looked at Wednesday and Thursday border wait times and, as in the past, Aldergrove is a better option, so I'll be putting down that crossing for afternoon crossing. I wAnder what would happen if you cross at a different crossing come the date and time.

Forgot.......... I was under the assumption since Ready Lanes were done, that Enhanced Drivers License wouldn't work. I asked the guards on both sides of the border and they said, it's still good to use instead of passport for crossing to and from. As long as it isn't expired. So, they stopped issuing EDL's, but still good. I hated taking passport with me, so this is good news. You have to carry a drivers license anyway, so it's fantastic. I have two more years before I have to go back to an everyday, run of the mill, license.
AND............. you can scan your EDL in the ArriveCAN app. Way easier than trying to hold the fricken passport open to take photo. Dealing with shadows and mangled fingers from years of working on stuff. Man, I wish they had, "O'Keefe's Working Hands," back in the day. Anyway...........................

Can you tell I missed going down to Bellingham?
On my short trip on Tuesday, I noticed a few EV Fast Chargers at Fred Meyers. It's pay per use, but the good news is, you get "charged" by kWh, not by time like the fast chargers up here. For EV's with smaller batteries, it's a good thing. Only one CHAdeMO as opposed to five CCS, however. I'm not sure if the fast charger at Nissan dealership is still free. Go Bellingham for cheap gas in an EV = win!
Other changes. No more McDonald's at Walmart. A lot of businesses at the Birch Bay Mall are gone. Michaels in Bellingham wasn't open due to smoke damage from a fire outside the building. https://www.bellinghamherald.com/new...255341936.html
Lots of flooded side roads.

question.
Excuse the noobness of the question. I'm an Albertan now living a few mins from the border here, and have never crossed to take advantage of the package shipping aspect.
lets say I get a package shipped to 5d. For example, a specialized tool. Value of $99usd. it's made in germany.
On return, I pay gst + pst?
or is there a possibility cbsa agent will just let me through without payment of any kind?

What's the value? $xxx
What is it? Car parts
Then scenario 1: "ok thank you" and I drive home
Scenario 2: I get handed a slip "go inside to pay taxes"
It's up to the border agent to decide if you will have to go inside to pay taxes.

have the receipt rdy, and when they ask the value just give the value in usd. Sounds alot less than giving the cnd value. So far ive been extremely lucky not paying taxes crossing back into the border.

yup, remember, it's the rule to pay taxes and duties. It's "luck" and discretion on whether it's "worth" their time to process you.
It's NOT a right, it's a privilege's to go so i just suck it up.
