X5 and X6 are built in South Carolina. Some of the 3 series are built in South Africa and BMW is looking to open a plant in Mexico. I believe only the 5, 6 and 7 are built in Germany and some 3's.

That really suck bro. I heard from my few friends having lots of issues with their Beamer too. That is one reason I don't buy a Beamer. I hear after your warranty is up, that is the time to get rid of your Beamer. It can get costly and most importantly your time.

that's right. I would only lease one and get rid of it after 2-3 years while still under warranty.

lol you bought a used car, modified it with sound equipment, god knows who and how installed it, ignored the first engine warning light and still bitching.... and expect it to be perfect? gotta be kidding me. you want perfect - buy a new car.

When spending this much $$ on a vehicle, I would tell anyone to do some reading up on the car they are considering.

If you did some digging you would see the the X5 has been plagued with recalls/service bulletins from day one. From one article I read a few years back, it held the record for the most issues in any new vehicle.

That aside, sell the thing and buy something else.

You're still not guaranteed to be problem free with a new vehicle
You'd still have to invest X amount of hours into taking it in/waiting etc

audio equipment has been in the car for over a year with no issues from the date of install. The issues i have was strictly mechanical related.

I didn't ignore the first limp mode. i already said earlier that i went to autowest right away and explained to them what happen.

not even a new car is guaranteed to be trouble free as u can see with some of those who have replied!

Stop saying Beamer.
To OP:
Car was beat, shit happens, and CPO cant predict the future. Your thread title looks like a headline from the Vancouver Sun. You had some bad luck, but you make it sound like the car was a possessed Krusty the Klown doll that picked up a kitchen knife and held it to your throat. Good choice on the new car, hope it treats you well.

probably still better than the Mercs built in Mexico
I hate it when you can hardly find electronics still built in Japan...luckily with cars you still get some built there.

Bullshit. I've had codes from two years ago stored on my 740iL.

That said, I can't say I'm surprised. The service I've received from BMW in Canada, be it from Brian Jessel, Autowest, or most recently Birchwood BMW here in Winnipeg has been atrocious. If I were to buy a newer Luxury car, I wouldn't even go near BMW.
