I didn't think so either. Someone in the thread got my hopes up when they said it ships from ON.

Time to order case and screen protector!

You'd rather look through a cheap scratchable screen protector than a perfectly clear, finger print proof, scratch proof gorilla glass 3 screen? :seriously:

6insomnia9 11-04-2013 02:38 PM

Get a matte screen protector so your greasy finger prints do not leave marks on it

Those make the screen look blurry. Plus the screen is already oleophobic and scratch proof (or resistant, whatever)..

6insomnia9 11-04-2013 03:01 PM

i hate when the screen gets greasy , feels digusting then i always have to watch my hands maybe im ocd..

I know, that's why you should NOT use a screen protector ;) Modern phones like the N4 and N5 are resistant to those prints... I find that I rarely have to wipe prints off my N4.. and when I do, just a quick wipe on my shirt or whatever is enough to get it looking pristine.

That's kind of the whole point of using expensive Gorilla glass... To each their own and everything, I just think that most people install screen protectors out of habit rather than to actually protect the screen. The screen is already protected...

Yes. Root is out already. :) It's too easy for Nexus devices.

My phone's last status was in Hodgkins IL. ETA Nov.8 end of day.

kwy 11-04-2013 04:47 PM

I've never used screen protectors..but I'll likely use one for the N5. Plenty of scratches on my gnex. I'll even start using a case. The slim ones are looking pretty good for the N5.

I agree, personally, I hate the feeling of screen protectors and have never used one with a smart phone.

Oh sweet.
Is this the Root Method you guys use, by Chainfire?
[Nexus 5] CF-Auto-Root - xda-developers
Or do you guys prefer other methods?

Hopefully, this will be a pretty easy process .

Gh0stRider 11-04-2013 07:21 PM

ya, probably wont use a screen protector. Just gonna get a case.

ForbiddenX 11-04-2013 07:46 PM

Same haven't used a screen protector in so long. Probably going to get that Spigen Neo Hybrid one. Looks really nice

essel 11-04-2013 07:54 PM

If it's shipping from the states, does this mean we will get charged duties ?

That white front speaker :heckno:

Edit: Now that I think of it, it will actually help me tell which end is the 'top' of the phone... with the N4 a lot of the time I end up holding it upside down before going to turn it on

3klipze 11-04-2013 08:26 PM

Now I kind of want a black one..

I loaded up 4.4 on my 4
its fucking smooth..
so I can't wait to see how it performs on the 5

areyounoob 11-04-2013 09:05 PM

I don't know about you guys, but I'd find it hard to give up the white one given its glossy sides :ahwow:

But then again a case is going over it...

AW607 11-04-2013 09:23 PM

Nexus 5.. Looks and sounds like it's fantastic, but I've only had my N4 for less than a year and it still works great :okay:
