Well, that 50 includes voice and text. Even still, I tried to get data only on a SIM card, Telus, and Rogers said no.

What I meant was, would you spend 50 CAD for 6 GB of data on a normal internet plan (Shaw, rogers, telus)? That's the kind of overpriced data I meant.

LTE, Camera, Android 4.4, 1080P, CPU will be upgraded for sure.

LTE is definitely noticeable even when browsing pages. I used to think the same about not caring about speed but after using it for awhile the experience is just so much better. Battery life? My Note 2 nets around 25hours per charge and I'm on LTE.

DragonChi 09-20-2013 10:55 AM

I guess the LTE upgrade was my rationalization not to upgrade. lol. I stand corrected. I would agree though, browsing webpages on the N4 non-LTE does take about 10 seconds to load sometimes.

Well to be fair, the note 2 has a roughly 30% larger battery, 3100 mAH, than a smartphone, for example the N4 has 2100 mAH battery.

You can get the Bell Tablet plan.. I tried that on my N4 a while back.. it was fast...

$5 /mo.
10MBof data
If data exceeds 10 MB,
automatically move to $20/mo.

$20 /mo.
1GB of data
If data exceeds 1GB,
automatically move to $40/mo.

$40 /mo.
5GB
Data use exceeding 5GB
will be charged $10/GB.

I used in in conjuction with Fongo app for 2 months.. not bad.. only thing I hated was the delay in the voice transmission..

!MiKrofT 09-21-2013 10:19 PM

Yeah you just don't tell them you're using it on a phone. I had a virgin tablet plan on my note 1 without any issue.

isn't kitkat a registered trademark brand? how can they use it?

Spoon 09-26-2013 05:26 AM

It's a marketing campaign. Kit Kat's paying for the naming rights.

Any news?

Probably won't be going for the 5 after having owned 2 nexus devices. Don't like not having native Facebook integration to sync contacts and tired of the crappy build quality/liberal use of plastic.

I'd hardly say it is a crappy build.

As for it syncing with your facebook contacts, that's all on you. You could avoid uncheck/unselect the sync.

:fulloffuck:

None of what you said makes sense.

Facebook supports native Android contact sync.

Samsung Nexus build quality wasn't great, I agree. But the LG Nexus 4? Double sided glass with that rubber grip in the middle that doesn't chip apart in your pocket like an iphone? :sweetjesus: and the buttons don't jiggle around like the iphone either

Google doesn't support facebook contact sync, they removed it in android 2.3? Non nexus phones support it because the manufacturer implements it. Best you can do on a nexus device is use haxsync or a 3rd party facebook client.

I'm looking right at my Facebook account settings in the Android control panel, and it's right there.

Strange, I have that too but it doesn't sync more then your own profile. Does yours sync all your fb friends?

I'd hardly call it being a pussy about your phone.

That's like telling a dude that takes care of his car to stop being a pussy if someone left a ding in his door.

Like a car, you can sell for a bit more if it's well kept. Also like a car, a new phone costs money.
Regardless of the amount it's still an investment.

That's just the way I see it though. I care about my expensive electronics.

I don't know, I'm not turning that shit on! :fuckthatshit:

I don't want my facebook list to mess up my actual contact list

Razor Ramon HG 10-01-2013 10:12 PM

When you run FB on your Android the first time, it asks you if you want to sync your contacts.

If you choose to sync, you're an idiot.

twitchyzero 10-01-2013 10:22 PM

when i first got android (stock ICS 4.0) I know they took the fb sync to contact feature out...perhaps they put it back?
