Hmm. Not digging the battery life. I hope it improves over the next few days otherwise I'm switching to the note 3. |
Does anyone elses like tactile feedback sound/feel really weak? It sounds like mine is broken or something... |

i've rooted mine going to give faux kernel a shot tomorrow apparently, its been doing wonders |
Sucks about the battery but I think custom kernels will take care of it for the most part. Can't do much with the small battery they put on there though, even with the OS improvements. Luckily I don't really care, as I don't go out for entire days If the battery sucks, wait and see what custom kernels can do. With Semaphore on my N4, the battery drain is 99% flat when idle in airplane mode, and not much worse with wifi. |
apparently the battery from the LG G2 wont fit in our N5... damn it.. would be nice to swap out the 2300mAh to the 3000mAh Its a good thing that the places I go, there is an outlet.. so I should be ok with battery part... I also have a 5000mAh portable battery charger, so if I do go out with no power outlet, I will be sure to bring this along... |

I know anker has a wireless charging pad that has a large internal battery for on the go wireless charging. no chance of breaking off your usb port, but how would you keep it attached if it was, say, in a backpack? i was also thinking of getting a charging pad for the car as well. over on XDA a guy took a pad apart and attached it to his phone cradle. |

however, for the N5, Franco himself doesn't have his phone yet(i think). However, I'm using Faux123 kernel, his latest beta update has been pumping out some great results (Screen on time of 5.5hrs) and getting some great use As skinny said earlier, 99%idle on Airplane or wifi is possible. One of the best things that these kernels do is that id adjusts the voltage/cpu to a minimum while when the phone is sleeping. By default, the N5 has the min freq at 1ghz, the faux kernel can allow the user to drop it to a low low setting of 300ghz on sleep. Thats putting it to deep sleep the one sacrifice is that push notifications will be slightly delayed. The power is in your hands. How the kernel governs the power too also has an impact, thus i've spent a good hour or so reading about how each thing works You will need an app to configure these things, such as Faux123's official app..or the free one, trickster mod edit... heres an updated pic for the family of nexus phones... https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...11938406_n.jpg |
