Amped, if you haven't gotten the LTE sim card, you might need to switch the data option to 3G.

Settings > More... > Mobile Networks > Network Mode

Hmmm I changed the network mode to 3g but after i leave mobile network settings it deselects 3g. Kinda weird.

It really is a defect. Seems like LG is cheaping out on display quality control and allowing a lot of yellow screens to ship out.

Below is a shot one guy posted of three Nexus 5's he owns.

This is a known issue for the Nexus 5. There is also a known issue with 3G sim cards and the Nexus 5. Best recommendation is to get the latest LTE sim card from your carrier.

Yes. LTE was on when wifi was off. Except when at home where I can only get H+

trollguy 11-13-2013 01:15 PM

received mine first thing this morn at work.. more or less been tinkering with it. pretty unimpressed w/ the cam (as expected). everything else is great.

will try the developer zip for the cam when i get home.. and root.. and more than likely install a diff rom. .. hope slim will release one soon :o

edit: just was reading the cam thread again on xda; doesnt seem to make much improvement. bah.

FerrariEnzo 11-13-2013 01:41 PM

so apparently there is a fix for the camera, supposedly makes the images better.. anyone heard of this?

trollguy 11-13-2013 02:16 PM

trollguy 11-13-2013 03:02 PM

Yeah, I downloaded it today. I'll have to play around with it and see how it goes.

I think I'm just too used to vscocam for the jesus phone.. that was a great pairing.

kingdrew 11-13-2013 03:57 PM

PHATFLIP_14 11-13-2013 04:13 PM

Just got my second Nexus 5. Pictured below on the left is a 32GB Black, on the right is a 32GB White. Screen tint is immediately noticeable. I showed the phones side by side to two people (separately), only saying to them "check out my new phones", and within 3 seconds they each answered "why is one so yellow?".

Even now the better one is still significantly more yellow than my iPhone 4 and Transformer Prime, but I think it's managable enough to keep. Sucks since I really wanted Black and I'm leaving for Japan so I have no time to exchange.

this also happened with the iphone 5s..it was fixed a few weeks later..our phones have only just been made and the glue takes on average 2 to 3 weeks to dry completely and then become transparent
