I must be doing Android wrong...off charger for 5 hours, 3h20min of screen time, was using Facebook, IM chats, downloading apps from app store and music from Google Drive using wifi. I was left with 18%.

Is there a way to make the swipe down stuff default to the settings tab instead of notifications.

I do all that except the music. That's probably what's draining your battery

While I'm not using android, but on my ip5, chatting on IM while on wifi is a ridiculous battery drainer for me

But I agree, music from a cloud service will also use a lot of power.

read some good things about the ringke fusion case, and i liked that it has a smaller profile than the spigen so i ordered it in. Hopefully doesnt disappoint. My N5 is gonna have to go naked for the time being..

I use the Ringke Fusion on my N4, its pretty good except the buttons are stiff. I read that the buttons are still stiff on the N5. So I likely wouldn't get one again.

N5 is pretty good on standby with battery, I noticed compared to the N4...

Phone is so slim, shame to add bulk with a hybrid case

Everyone loves to make 'drop test' videos, so where are the drop test videos with these cases? I am curious how much protection a 3mm piece of plastic and rubber gives an already rubberized case.

I have ordered 2 cases before I received the phone. Now that I have the phone in hand, I'm considering keeping it naked.

Posted up my Nexus 5 for sale. After much humming and hawing I decided to stick with my Note 2 instead. Just too used to the size and feel of the Note 2 and I don't find it much faster overall. I'll probably be in search of a Note 3 for my next phone.

BTW. Anyone worrying about battery size don't. It's way improved over the Nexus 4 and easily lasted me the whole day.

Is there a way to make downloaded mp3s show up Google Play Music right away? After I download an mp3, I can see it in a file manager app, but it won't be in my Play Music library until I reboot the phone.

FYI heavily used Google Maps navigation today. Drove from North Burnaby to downtown, then across the border to Blaine. Played mp3's and the screen was on about half the time. Total driving time was ~2h10m. Full battery was drained to 14%.

If you want a battery percentage indicator in the stock rom, you may want to get this app, [APP] Enable Battery Percentage (Android 4.4) - xda-developers. After you run the app and enable the feature and reboot. It will show the percentage of your battery. You can even delete the app afterwards and it'll stay on. The app changes the system file.

Just picked one up today to replace my note 1. Pretty excited overall. Case shopping and custom rom browsing for the next little while xD
