Oh is that why I don't get notifications when people send me a facebook message? Well fuck me! Where are these hacks?

Been using my Qi wireless charger for a few days and I have to say this is greatest invention ever. Seems so simple and dumb yet it truly increases the convenience of a phone, especially one with short battery life like the Nexus 5.

If you're the kind of guy that at home/work you put your phone on a desk/table while sitting, you really need a wireless charger.

I bought the one below from Amazon. Cheap, feels nice, works great. Have no issues with aligning the phone properly or starting a charge, doesn't have annoying beeps, and LEDs are dim enough to use it bedside.

I think I may just order yours as a bedside charger

My N5 16gb still doesn't ship til dec. 3rd..

I'm using the Nokia DT-900 Qi charger that I got at an AT&T US store for $25 for both my N5 and N7 ... I heard from RFD that they might be on sale for $30 at wireless wave but haven't confirmed anything personally ... It might be a little more expensive than some of the ones posted above but I personally always liked Nokia's hardware build quality ...

what I've noticed so far is that the charging is actually pretty fast on it and looks a lot better than having a wire sitting around the night stand and phone gets a bit warm when charging ... I would recommend for anyone who has a phone that can support qi charging to really look into getting one ...

Do the wireless chargers work with cases? or is there a certain thickness it won't work with?

Sony will be internationally launching a reduced size version of the Z1. It's already released in Japan called the Docomo Z1f. Looks to be the around the same size as an iphone.

Were you using mskip's toolkit?

Hehe 11-17-2013 01:12 AM

I did a quick review on the Nokia DT-900 Qi charger.

If you are interested, you can read on

Now, back to N5, does anyone know how to backup a device that's not rooted for root?

My friend got his N5 and he already set up everything. I told him all the benefit of rooting and he decides to do it. Is there any way to backup everything so he doesn't have to setup/install everything again?

I've always used Titanium backup... but it's not an option for non-rooted device.

Make sure under Settings > Backup and Restore he has it checked to backup to his Google account. This will back up all his settings as well as any apps from the Play store (not sure if it saves the app's settings though). Make sure he manually backs up any data like documents, photos, etc.

Jet 11-17-2013 07:22 AM

I'm not sure if its been mentioned yet but for people who are interested in rooting your stock N5, I've been using Wugfresh's Nexus Root Toolkit, super easy to use and recommended if you own any of the Nexus devices (I think only the Nexus 1 isn't mentioned in the supported list) ... He keeps it pretty updated and is great place to start
