I don't think the Nexus 4 ever had the hardware to do LTE. If they release an LTE version I think it will actually have hardware changes to fit LTE in.

n4 actually does have LTE hardware..many people got it working with Rogers LTE

they disabled it via an update iirc

the LTE on the N4 right now is only for a single band...

if they release the new N4 with support for all LTE bands, then i guess its ok???... if they release the current N4 and just enable that single band LTE, then my high hopes for Google are not going to be good and then it just shows Google is milking people like what Apple does...

It had LTE compatible radio but not the proper antennas to fully utilize it.

The antennas work, they just don't have FCC authorization to use it

If rooted you can install a hybrid radio firmware that will work with the latest versions of Android. I tried it, but PCCW doesn't use LTE Band 4, which is the only band supported.

Yup. Google phones won't sync fb contacts and info properly like other Android phones because of a disagreement between Google and fb. It isn't fixed by a simple checking/unchecking the box procedure. Third party apps will only go so far in syncing contacts properly.

I've been using hax sync, works fairly well. The only thing I facebook for is to get contact photos, which hax sync does.

Finally, Google sent out press invites for an event on October 24. Rumours that it is for the Nexus 5 have been debunked however. Google reps confirmed the event is for new Play store content unveiling, and no new hardware will be shown.

Rumours are that the official Nexus 5 / Kit-Kat unveiling will be October 28.

lol that looks like those non-brand "Android phone" boxes they sell in China. Having the Bluetooth logo as the lead logo is beyond weird

God damn it Google. Just announce the bloody phone already. There's basically nothing left to announce at this point other then when we can buy it.

Yes that is exactly what it is. I just posted it to show what an official Google case may look like.
