So in response to my previous posts, I've restarted my phone, and nothing's changed with the Android OS taking up 15-40% of my battery drain. I'm still getting a full 12+ hours on the phone, which is fine with me but it's still weird. I was looking at my Running Processes and the only thing that I could possibly associate it with would be Google Location Services... This doesn't sound like an uncommon issue with people, hopefully Google notices this and patches it. |

I also install the mini gapps package.. I dont even use google books, video, or whatever... |
try turn off NFC, google now "always listening" and set your google location mode to "battery saving" |

Yup, I went through most settings that involve push and constant scanning/updating. Posted via RS Mobile |

I'm wondering, what's the likelihood of getting the older Nexus 5 vs. the updated version if I order one right now? |
^ I'm willing to bet that, if you order one from Google, it'll likely be the redesigned one, while a store might still have a mix of both. Posted via RS Mobile |
Was the button rattle really that bad on the old batch? Posted via RS Mobile |

Getting bored of my nexus 5 might be switching back to iphone Posted via RS Mobile |
Got a new Nexus 5 from Google Store and wanting to switch from Rogers ($70/month) to the Wind $30/month plan. My next invoice date with Rogers is February 1st and I have about 8 months left. Is there anything I can do when I transfer to Wind to save money from the cancellation fee/next month's invoice? Thank you :D |

Almost a week into my Nexus 5 experience. I like it. It feels more like when I'm using my iPad than my iPhone in that the browser and mail experience feels more usable. Navigating the Internet on an iPhone was always a bit of a chore. Maybe this is because I came from an iPhone 4 with no LTE to a Nexus 5 with LTE but this is a more usable experience from the browser point of view. Social media felt more seamless on the iPhone, really. There are definite drawbacks to the way Android does Twitter, Instagram, etc. I like that Instagram can import directly from Dropbox, which saves me a step...but somehow browsing doesn't seem as smooth. The Twitter app on iPhone is quite good but seems less intuitive here. They're not the same. The iPhone app is much closer to the desktop site. Hootsuite is more or less the same...except "pull" to refresh is annoying here because you have to tap. All the Google stuff works better. Gmail...Maps...etc. But I still feel there's too much tweaking and crap to do....and until I find a solution right for me, I think I like iTunes + Music on the iPhone to this. The iPod app looks so much better and is more intuitive to use. Yes, drag and drop and all but I'm so OCD about album art and such that Google Music is pissing me off. And what's with all the fucking apps we don't get in Canada? I can't remember the last time there was an iOS app that was available in the US but not Canada in the last couple years. Sure, some of them don't work properly but that's because of stupid copyright issues and whatever (Netflix, Hulu, etc). |

If so, try ending it. You may have to do it in cached as well as running if it was in the running. I don't have a N5 but this works for me on my 3 different Android phones and I make this a practice each time I open up the Gallery app |
