ok I get it... so i been googling reading stuff including 2 threads here on RS, and it seems since it was brand new and blocked 2 weeks later, that it's basically the asshole who sold it to me is the original owner, he reported stolen yesterday apparently when it stopped working, blocked the phone and he gets insured gets a new one...... anyway that's the jist I got from it on how that scam works....

I strayed away from one of the top 10 rules in life I life by... the one where you're never supposed to trust a guy who gets his hair done at a female salon.......

but then again problably not, I'll just get my bro to sell this phone for double down in South America... I feel good about that because now I know it's not literally a stolen phone as in someone's legit stolen property taken from them, just a greedy little bitch

If you take the seller info (Dl# contacts info.....) and have a record of the E-mails or text message, you might not be get the phone to work again but the police might look into the case as a scam report to the insurance company. At least that way he might have to pay his insurance company back.

cops dont really give a shit or do much about these types of crimes.... and even if I was to go that route, I would literally lose the whole value of the phone that I spent ($400) just on that one day I would miss work having to go make my report etc, etc....

if I ever use Craigs List again, I'm straight up asking for the guy's license or ID and take a picture of it, so this shit doesn't happen again

The Google play store sells it for the least. It works out to 400 bucks with tax and shipping included.

^ yea after I got jipped, I wanted to find the guy who ripped me off, so I literally emailed all the guys selling Nexus 5's on CL, about 20 or so emails, and I'm pretty sure they're all scams, not a single fckin reply...

all I asked for was receipt of purchase, and a lot of them were labeled as BNIB so that shouldn't have been a problem.... not a single person replying to me is a huge redflag, I have an idea of how that scam works, but shit I didn't think that many people were pulling it...

just ordered 2 white 16gbs off google play store for me and me wife, no more CL for me

is the Nexus 5 still worth to get it? or waiting for the next one is more logical?

I'm currently using a iphone 5s

I woudl keep the iphone 5s sell it around Aug/Sept and wait for the iphone6 or another phone. Reason being is around that time the iphone6 would almost be out but also you have a lot of people going back to school and some of these people want to show off they have an iphone5s to their friends so they will buy it.

The N5 is a great phone but if you have the 5s I don't see any reason to change it unless you really want a bigger screen. In terms of speed and Camera and ease of use iphone5s is a lot better than the N5. N5 is design with a balance of power and budget in mind and the 5s is build on being expensive.

I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned in this thread, but D Brand makes a really good vinyl skin for the N5. Very precise and made with 3M vinyl.

Screen cracked yesterday. First drop, and it was from waist height. Had a ringke fusion case on it. Dropped my gnex probably 6 times and the glass was fine.

Bezels are thinner on the nexus 5 though

Seems like the damn glass is thinner..

dropped mine onto concrete yesterday from about the same height. didn't have a case on it and had a mini heart attack.. luckily nothing happened and the back cover kind of came off a bit in one corner, but i snapped it back together. im just glad i had it in a zip lock back at the time otherwise it would have a lot more damage..

dropped mine getting out of the car, face down, but its fine phew


are you guys able to charge your N5s in your car? when i charge mine and use bluetooth at the same time the phone still dies -_-

I've charged mine while using GPS and streaming the radio while driving down to Seattle. Battery still went up. I do enable fast USB charging from the kernel I use though, so maybe that's why?

You'll need a 2A+ charger. Probably want to install currentwidget and see how much charge your phone is actually getting in the car.

been using the nexus 5 since late december and i love it

i came from a Samsung s3. that thing would slow down to a point where it got irritating to use everyday

with my nexus, its as fast as the day i got it (and its fucking silky smooth). possibly because it runs stock android? and no UI bullshit on top?

just order a bunch of nicer ones from monoprice. Ends up around the same price if you were buying something locally.
