Best battery performance from all the 5.0 roms so far.

maybe i should just do this instead of waiting forever for 5.0.1
no memory leaks?

Tim Budong 12-16-2014 07:11 AM

Why is Google fucking it up so badly..
Unless this is their way of getting everyone to upgrade to the Nexus 6?

Expresso 12-17-2014 07:35 PM

Dude you haven't even upgraded. Can't really make an opinion until you try it. Darth is not the majority. Mine is running perfect.

Tim Budong 12-17-2014 07:39 PM

Nexus 6 doesn't really have this battery drain issue from what I gather..

I will get the nexus6 eventually...

but for now...being in HK with battery life like this is quite the bother...
5.0.1 was supposedly going to address the memory leak, but also the battery life

nothing addressed.. ugh

Bender Unit 12-17-2014 07:39 PM

I think darthchilli is an Isolate case.
Mind isn't that bad even with 5.0
I did a clean swiped and reinstalled when upgraded from KitKat
Both my N5 & N7 works work with lollipop

Dude I'm on 5.0.1.
So I can have an opinion because I have tried it.
Dont jump to conclusions yeah?

Gh0stRider 12-17-2014 09:31 PM

Drift_Monkey 12-18-2014 11:35 AM

OMG.... The camera problem is still there after the update to 5.0.1.

Gh0stRider 12-18-2014 12:55 PM

I never said lollipop sucks, but it definitely does have its downsides when it comes to performance. Surely Google can sort it out if they want people to keep buying their Nexus line. Releasing a huge update like lollipop AFTER making everyone wait, only to have it suffer from battery life issues doesn't exactly instill confidence in customers.

Sure lollipop is prettier to look at, sure it has a new notification system but if battery performance suffers that's a big issue to me and obviously darthchilli as well. If you don't have any issues that's great for you.

Obviously it's a big enough issue to other people besides you that big tech sites are writing articles about it.

No need to come at me with attitude just because you didn't like my comment brah.

Tim Budong 12-18-2014 08:32 PM

performance issues patched up in 5.0.1
phone is smoother for sure

after reading and reading some more... my guess was correct, new google location APIs are causing the shit juice life. It doesn't help that im in Hong Kong atm...

i stopped worrying about it so much... everyone needs a battery pack in hong kong. doesn't matter if iPhone6+ or a shitty S3/4

I will have to say, I am on my phone consistently.. and Play Music is killing battery a lot faster than it should

Coren 12-18-2014 09:06 PM

Got my 5.0.1 ota about an hour ago. Havn't really used my phone yet so I can't say if anything was fixed. Was a pretty small update, only 13.3 megs.

Teriyaki 12-18-2014 09:51 PM

From initial few hours of usage, 5.0.1 seems a lot snappier. Will report back in a few days to see if the same lagginess re-appears

essel 12-19-2014 01:48 AM

Finally got the 5.0.1 update. So far so good. Going to give it a couple days to see if the lag and crashing is fixed.

I didn't use a battery pack when I was in HK. But then again I wasn't using my phone to watch TV on the MTR like 90% of the ppl there.....

jinxcrusader 12-21-2014 12:02 AM

new OTA works fine, i'm getting significantly less apps crashing and system going back to Home screen.
But it is still happening.

Lag when switching between apps or going from app to homescreen has been significantly decreased as well.

Teriyaki 12-21-2014 08:40 PM

After a few days on 5.0.1. It is still better than first version, but the lag loading the home screen after exiting an app is still very much there. Ugh, I'm not a happy camper.

Iceman_2K 12-22-2014 07:38 AM

I can't even get a update for both my nexus 7 or my nexus 5. Freaking retarded....been waiting for weeks....

essel 12-22-2014 02:52 PM

5.0.1 is a lot less laggy for me, but still getting apps crashing and lots of lag after exiting an app. Battery life doesn't seem to have improved. Sigh.

!Yaminashi 12-22-2014 06:33 PM

Battery life has been a bit better for me on 5.0.1. But I find sometimes I'll still need to reboot every few days because my battery will randomly start dropping faster than normal with almost no usage.

StylinRed 12-22-2014 07:41 PM

Ive still got an issue where the homescreen won't load, or takes forever to, at times when exiting or minimizing an app

the battery seems to be running good once more after 5.0.1
