E.D.C.5 12-23-2013 01:11 AM

ok, nope not going anymore. LOL

ziggyx 12-23-2013 08:03 AM

Lol it's almost the end of the year and the weather still isn't cooperating. I was gonna go to cypress today too but seeing the weather on their website it's not worth it.

The weathernetwork says the temperatures for the next 2 weeks will be a steady 5 degrees with a lot of sun. I know it could be wrong but looking at it makes me :okay:

westopher 12-23-2013 08:51 AM

Every once in a while its just a shit year. Looks like its shaping up to be one of those years. I mean really we have already lost a full month of a 4 month season. It sucks. I worked out my schedule at work so I could have 4 potential days of riding a week, and its just not happening.

tomatogunk 12-23-2013 09:10 AM

I know what you guys mean. This time last year most of the runs at Cypress were open. I was looking forward to do more riding during the holidays as I bought a Jew pass and have to pay when I ride during weekends in January and February

Vangruver 12-23-2013 09:31 AM

i know only a few of you remember the season of 98/99 [westopher might] Back when there weren't any snowguns/snowmaking at cypress, and all the chairs were fixed SLOW doubles

But it was the same type of season.

LATE LATE start, minimal december snowfall, but the season DID work out.

Typically, with this type of late start, it will lead to a later running winter and a later hitting summer leading up to a heavy winter the year later.

it's the la nina, el nino cycle.

It will snow guys, just be patient

Damn, I want to go snowboarding this week...

Was planning to go to Baker...
Does anyone know if snow tires are a must if going to Baker?

Cypress was my plan B, but it seems like Cypress isn't worth it with the current weather.

z3german 12-23-2013 05:57 PM

fingers crossed to go up Cypress Christmas day :nyan:

Was up at whistler this weekend and came back today, there was some good riding to be had thanks to the fact that it snowed almost 15cm on thursday night.

Today was complete crap though, it was raining hard in the village still raining pretty far up past midstation on the hill.

From the pictures I got sent by a friend, it does not look like any of the 3 local mountains are worth riding right now. LOL.

NGExhiles 12-23-2013 07:42 PM

I'm thinking of hitting up cypress this friday with a couple of friends... think it's worth it? I mean tickets are only 32$ and from what's been said, it seems like the line up time is pretty short so you can get a lot of runs in.

Only thing I'm worried about is scratching up my new board I got this weekend. Is there a lot of bare patches on the runs?

heisenberg 12-23-2013 09:07 PM

just got back a couple of hours ago. a green and blue open nothing fancy. big patches of slushy water near the beginning of the green. wasnt raining, but it was windy as fuck. this is my second season boarding. i stayed on the same run practising my jumps and stuff. overall it wasnt too bad in my opinion. i paid 13$ with the deal of the day hehe.

alex.w *// 12-23-2013 10:35 PM

Right now, it's good for beginners to learn because it's dirt cheap for tix. and you don't need much runs to practice on

you have my permission to be jealous ;)

45 cm's of new snow in the last 7 days, they opened up this bowl for us to have freshies.

it was untouched for at least 4 hours of our day.

I needed to pick up a new board this year now that my Slasher is useless. Got last years Never Summer SL.

where?

fishCak3s 12-25-2013 02:10 PM

Got back from sunpeaks last week and I'm sure it was a lot better than the local mountains even though there weren't that much at sunpeaks.

Little crowd with fresh runs on the Morrisey side, nothing to complain about

Heading up to cypress tmr for the first time this yr.
