Snow was good today at cypress :) DON'T go out of bounds! I saw a cypress employee wait at the bottom of Horizon/Rainbow for riders who deliberately go out of bounds. Outcome, he took their passes away. |
Better be decent! Going to be my first time this season. |
ss604, youre going cypress tmrw ? |
Yep, will be up tomorrow from 10AM till whenever my group gets tired. I'll be riding with a black bolle helmet, white I/OX framed goggles and "stock" lenses (LOL), white Helly Hanson rain jacket, green pants, and......black snowboard set with a razer sticker on one end. If you see me come say hi (i'm a newbie though) :D. |
I'll see you on Collins then! I'll be in all black. Wearing a big puffy burton jacket with white framed smith goggles. I'll try to scope you out. |

How are the roads going up to Cypress? I'm sure they are plowed somewhat, but how bad does it get right at the main parking lot? |
Whistler was epic today! Long wait to get up though...50 minutes at creekside and about an hour and whistler/blackcomb. |

EDIT: Westopher got there first... RE-EDIT: Oh and westopher alpine on blackcomb was closed all day long, highest open chair was jersey cream, 7th was closed as well. Park's are a mess and probable will be for a couple days as the last dump of snow screwed with everything. Snow was great today, but it was easily one of the busiest days for lifts and lineups I have ever seen at whistler, and that is saying a lot because I am there really regularly. Got there at about 9:15am and the line for the blackcomb gondola went back through the village and wrapped around showcase. It was nuts. |
It sounds like the winds in the alpine are going nuts, i doubt they will be open tomorrow as well. Hoping the winds hold up and they cant open til wednesday or thursday. Going to hit up seymour tomorrow finally after work, then hopefully before work monday, then whistler tuesday, baker wednesday, seymour thursday, friday. Gonna fucking push it hard to make up for lost time. |
^ :( I hope 7th or anything above jersey is open tmr. EDIT: meme405, was it raining in the village? raining/clear/snowing around jersey? |
Really depends on the winds. I know for sure they are gonna want to open it for weekend crowds. They will be doing everything they can to get it open for sure, but if its gusting 80-100 like forecasted, it wont be safe to get patrollers bombing up there. Even with all the bomb trams and such its gonna be sketch as fuck. |
I've been stuck on the 7th heaven lift one time a couple of years ago. We were mid way up the lift and then there was a complete white out. They stopped the lift for around 10 minutes but it seemed like a lifetime(long time), lol. I couldn't even see my own hands in front of my face, everything was white. I could hear the voices of my friends next to me but couldnt see them. Felt like I was dying and going to heaven or something. They finally got us off and closed the lift once the last guys were off it. Pretty interesting experience to say the least. EDIT: oh yea and on our way down, visibility was shit. could barely see 3 feet in front of you. I remember going down the green run at the first part of 7th heaven and i thought i had stopped but i was actually slowly sliding forward. ended up dropping a foot off of the main path into pow, face planted and all, lol |
Friend showed me a pic of whistler today (I don't think this is his picture) http://i.imgur.com/aUDEkqv.jpg |
holy shit jersey cream and the one next to it, what the fuck lol |
the lines werent that bad when i went up :$ the busiest line was probably like 5 minutes long and thats because a bunch of ski schools were going home |
