Cypress was pretty epic today also. Probably the best conditions so far for that mountain. The only thing that was ridiculous was the amount of people on Collins At 530. My first run of the day consisted of me weaving through pylons, which was pretty fun. My second run of the day was on slash which is the steepest run on cypress and it had knee high powder from top to bottom.

Came back from big white yesterday and I have to say, that's the best mountain I have been too so far!

That'd exactly what I said the first time going there. That was 7 years ago and I still go there every year for about a week.

Yeah, that was weird, sticky snow, rain, wet snow. I prefer the conditions on from Thursday and Friday Night. Perhaps I hyped myself too much.

XplicitLuder 02-25-2014 12:48 PM

Anyone going up anytime soon? Or not worth now? I've got to go at least once this season! Lol

Yesterday was amazing! I started off the day with just my tanktop under jacket and was warm. The snow was a mix of great spring conditions but had some icy patches til the sun hit it. Was stopped on a run off to the side and had some guy spray snow at me, went down my tank and got my inside pocket which had my phone in :| it was refreshing but still... Lol

We left at 2 as my friend had an appointment and she was my ride. Kinda wish i had kept riding but I didn't think id have many more runs left in me; this was my first day in over a year.

I forgot how many hot guys snowboard ;)

I was up at cypress yesterday and this is the first time I've seen a car in the ditch going up the mountain. Wasn't a bad day to be riding.

went to cypress today thinking it would be decent after yesterday

did 3 runs and left

slow heavy powder up top that turned to slow slurpee conditions at the bottom

westopher 03-03-2014 12:58 PM

City riding season is over unless you want to get some sunny park laps in. Otherwise its gonna be warm mashed potato snow/rain. March in whistler is already getting off to a good start though. I think I'll head there on wednesday depending on weather.

Booya. Spring park season…. Where I can fall on my ass all I want and the bone breakage risk factor is down 70% ha.

saveth 03-03-2014 02:23 PM

I actually like slurpee conditions. I'll take that over ice any day.

I'm with you. The soft spring conditions are the best!

dyan 03-05-2014 05:23 PM

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone want to buy a cypress gold medal card still?

I have an unused one with the free lift still available.

westopher 03-05-2014 07:41 PM

Park was so fun at seymour today. The jumps are perfect.

hud 91gt 03-05-2014 08:13 PM

Never been to Seymour. Is the park better then Cypress?

westopher 03-05-2014 08:20 PM

I'd say so. This year is a bit of an anomaly, as it took them til like 2 weeks ago to put it together because they don't have snow making abilities, but they've put together a pretty decent set up. Last year there were way more features. I'm not big on hitting rails anymore. A bit, but just to mess around. I like hitting like 30-40 foot jumps the most, and as it stands seymour has 2 jumps on the smaller side of that scale, with perfect, steep, big takeoffs and nice landings. Last year the whole mountain had stuff built all over it which was amazing. Jumps all the way to the park as well as in the park. Also its a good vibe there. I wish I could embed videos on here from Facebook. I got a good shot on the bottom jump doing a fs3 nose that shows the setup well but can't link it here.
If I were to rate the hills in categories:
Seymour=park riding
Cypress=cruising and fun with a bit of park
Grouse=waiting in line and being annoyed as fuck.

westopher 03-05-2014 10:45 PM

I managed to upload a good shot of my buddy tim on the jumps to show what they are like. All his shots are on my phone and mine are on his so I'll have to get them somehow.
