Baker has the highest average snowfall in the world
It holds the record for the most snow ever recorded anywhere in one season (1120 inches or 95 feet.)
Its steep, rugged, never busy, hard to get to (to an extent) and has tons of easily accessible backcountry.
In short, Mt. baker is heaven.

couldn't agree more....best part...not much kids!...all the lifts don't have the safety bar....so most parents avoid going there as there is a potential of their kids falling off and injuring themselves...last year i went....HIT FRESH/UNTOUCHED/FLUFFLY POWDER ! ! ! ! ZOMG...thinking about it
just look at these recent pics from their site!!!!!! CANT WAIT
The base hasnt grown much since the last update considering it's been very warm. But I do agree that baker is a great mountain. Been riding there since 97 and will continue to make it up at least 10 times this year Posted via RS Mobile
for those that have been to the turkey sale at whistler, how are the deals and how early should you go? I'm not looking for anything in particular, since I have everything I need but I wouldn't mind having some extra gear if the price is right.

Anyone follow some of the snowboarding competitions from last year? A promising canadian for the slopestyle I'll be watching out for during the next winter olympics is Mark McMorris. I hope he takes home gold for Canada.
Also this 14 year old japanese kid ayumu hirano is up there with Shaun White in the half pipe events placing 2nd in the burton US open and winter x games.
The local mountains got a bit of snow last night. Hopefully they will be open very soon.
I agree, but they have a long ways to go from a dusting of snow, to being able to open.
In other news Whistler got pounded the last little bit, they are well on track for an early opening...
I picked up my new pants and new jacket a couple days ago, as well as a new AirHole Balaclava. Starting to get real antsy to get out there.
Last couple items I need for this upcoming season is a complete new UA base layer, I usually rock the cold gear compression fit turtle neck with some of their base gear long johns. Keep me nice and toasty on those cold POW days.
I have Spy Platoons. I don't personally wear glasses but they're pretty big and my friends have tried them on saying they're way more comfy. Posted via RS Mobile

hmm ill look at them thanks! do you know if theyre otg? i believe it says on the box
Contacts will make snowboarding way better then having goggles over your glasses.
Not to mention you can bail hard enough and have your goggles and glasses come off at the same time and losing them. You also have a very shitty view with glasses on.
It's hard enough to find goggles with a very wide vision with an unobstructed view.
