reliable/reasonable mechanic shop in coquitlam/tri-cities area (S2000)
can anyone quickly recommend me a good mechanic shop in tri cities area that i can swing by to get something diagnosed? its for a transmission issue in my s2000.
When I had my S2000, TF did all the work on it.
Owner use to own an S2000, and one of the mechanics also own an S2000 so they are pretty familiar with the car.
BTW, Jpark, what is it that your car is doing? Maybe other S2000 owners can help too.

Tung Fat can be tricky to get to, it is next to Regency VW.. However it is the easiest to get to from the service entrance / Runnell Drive. They have quite a few bays.
I wouldn't bring it to Tung Fat unless you want missing bolts and hack job/private modder type of work.
The last time I brought my car in there for a brake fluid change, they ended up only bleeding one brake and managed to lose the bleed screw cover. My master cylinder failed a day later and I had to yank the e-brake to stop.
When they worked on my exhaust system, they replaced my spring bolts with random mix/matched bolts
Take it to Westwood Honda. You might not even get charged a diagnosis fee. Talk to Gerrald, one of the best service guys there.
Are you kidding me about Tung Fat? I hear alot of bad stories about Tung Fat. I know the boss is not licensed, just had some experience back in China and hires couple amateurs to do work for him. Only one guy in his shop is licensed. Be careful

Here's a video i made on the way to work. Its so loud its unbearable. I've narrowed down the problem to be the tailshaft bearing/ Output shaft bearing.
Some people have been telling me that the tranny has to be completely removed from the car, yet some people are telling me that it can be done without being removed. I was strongly debating on just buying a new tranny and swapping it in since the cost of labor and parts will be just as much for a used low mileage tranny, however if it can be done without being removed, i figured i don't really have to go that direction
Wow shes noisy. If the tail shaft housing is removable from the trans without taking the trans out of the car then if its the tail shaft shaft bearing you should be able to repair it without pulling the trans.

The owner, his son, and the 2 amateurs are all licensed mechanics. Not sure how you "know" the boss is not licensed and only one guy in his shop is licensed.
