Opinions on a 2014 Mustang GT Been looking a 2014 5.0L mustang here in Bonnyville Alberta where I'm working. It is Grabber Blue and has a few modifications done to it. Wheels, couple roush pieces, some steeda suspension components. Anyone have any experience with the newer 5.0L? In general experience with the newer model mustangs? It is employee priced to 34,xxx from 42,xxx. I asked how much it would extra to include the brembo brake pkg and record seats. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps589f6b50.jpg http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...psee5ec957.jpg Posted via RS Mobile |
Buy it -- hands down my favorite car at work. As far as mechanical problems there haven't been many that I know of, and most of our cars get rat-bagged pretty hard (rentals). The only feature I would say is worth it is the back up sensors -- really is tough to park b/c visibility is shit. The shaker sound system is awesome and worth it IMO + the ipod/bluetooth integration is pretty seamless. Also I'm not 100% sure on this, but most of the GT's we get with the brembo brakes come as part of the trackpack which includes 3.73 gears and carbon fiber clutch plates -- if I'm not mistaken Oh, I should mention gas mileage isn't terrible either. Not uncommon to average 10-12L/100KM on the highway |
Beauty, the 5.0 is probably the best engine for the mustang. Also you can go on insideline to read their review because they had one for their long term review. Posted via RS Mobile |
My buddy has a '13 5.0 with recaro seats and track pack with the 6spd. It's power is surprising and brutal. The ONLY thing I didn't like about it is there is a large amount of driveline noise ( like a Clunk sometimes from 2nd to 3rd etc) Srsly, buy it :p or at least test drive if. Grabber blue is the best colour yoo Posted via RS Mobile |
Love the Grabber Blue! see if you can find the California Edition i believe its called. |
I can't quite give you the full picture... But i drive a 5.0L f150 (similar engine... not nearly the same though) and a '14 Mustang (NON GT) The 5.0L (**F150 version**) is an incredible motor- gobs of power everywhere, torque pulls like a freight train, but MAKE SURE you get the 3.73's Mustang Chassis/interior It's a decently stiff chassis- with a few cheap mods (think stiffer springs, new LCA's, a PHB, and some sticky tires, it'll out handle ALOT of expensive cars. Ignore the live axle naysayers. Unless you're trying to knock .10's off your lap time, you won't notice it. Interior: 1000x better than the old ones, all touch points are soft, high quality, leather steering wheel, stainless and leather shifter, comfy seats etc. |
That ones a looker. |
Just don't sell it after 6 months -_- |
meh, i think it's ok |
That's one bad ass looking car. |
message pacer. he got one. |

It drives beautifully. One thing that has me questioning is its a 2014 and already has 218kms from test drives. I know how some people drive during a test drive but a new engine should be broken in a bit. I don't think it's the track pack? Has 3.31 gears. Not to worried about the gears. Gears are affordable. Comes with Nitto invo's 255/35 upfront and 295/35 in the rear, steeda panhard, steeda caster/camber plates, steeda lowering Springs, roush fogs, grill, axle back and front splitter, Avant garde m510 20" wheels. I will wait and see how much extra the seats and brakes are. Posted via RS Mobile |
Thanks everyone for the replies! I would throw 'thanks' around but only access to mobile :P Posted via RS Mobile |
bear in mind there is going to be a new mustang next year, it probably wont be retro so if thats your thing then get this one. otherwise if it was me id wait a few months. |
Super nice car right off the lot at a great discount... if you're in the market and this suits your needs/wishes then do it! |

It's a 5.0. You're going to drive it as hard as any test drive... My Speed 3 had 300kms on it, and I got it for 6K off sticker. I'd make that trade any day. |
I love that color. |

Never mind no getting it. She just called me and told me the price is 47,000 ish after tax. Apparently the employee price at 34,000 doesn't include all the modifications. What a joke, almost seems like false advertising having the 34,000 price tag on the front window. Sorry for the thread guys. Posted via RS Mobile |
