iphone help its a 4s that's updated to the latest. I rarely ever delete texts since I sometimes need to sift through pages upon pages to find something someone said months ago... doing that became a force of habit, so ive got 2 years worth of texts on my phone. im trying to delete them and it lets me delete, but every time I try, the messages app just goes blank after I re open it...I try and let it sit in hopes that it will catch up and load, but no. when I reopen the app, the messages page is completely clear and only gives me the option to start a new message. I restart the phone and messages will work again, but, any thread I deleted prior will now be back again. kinda frustrating...lol any help here? factory reset is my absolute last option since I have a lot of crap on my phone im not wanting to just delete. |
not sure if this is a fix but try going into settings > messages and turn off iMessage. After that do all your deleting. Try a reboot and turn iMessage back on. I find that sometimes iMessage does some voodoo especially when you have it enabled on more than one device. |
nope, I did a force restart, went to settings turned off imessage then tried to delete 5 threads. closed the app from double tap, tried to go back to settings, click messages and the phone freezes again my phone sucks donkey dick... |
Try deleting 1 thread. Don't force close via double tap or reboot. Check back in 15 minutes and see. I wonder if you have so many texts that it takes a long time to delete, and maybe you're interrupting the process. |
been trying to read google results, lot of them say delete a few at a time, then restart the phone...which is what im doing now. its working...but ive got hundreds of open threads >.< |
