According to CarScoops, a promotional video was published on AutoBlog, leaking images of GM’s new flagship luxury SUV. The link provided in the CarScoops post is already dead, but the damage is done.
Entering its fourth generation for the 2015 model year, the newest luxury SUV adopts styling cues that put it in line with other current Cadillac products. Tall headlights wrap over the front fenders and even taller light pillars are in place as rear lamps.
Have you ever actually driven an Escalade/Yukon/Tahoe? How exactly are they, and their sister platforms the Yukon and Tahoe a "piece of crap" exactly...?

Yes, I've driven it. Does this then make my opinion of it more valid to you?
If it matters, it was a 2011 model for an 800km trip to Kelowna and back. For me it was a fantastically comfortable cruiser. It was also surprisingly nimble and its power was intoxicating.
The brakes, however, were completely inadequate to handle its obesity, and it was constantly hunting for the proper gear in the hills. What's most important for me, however, is build quality. In the case of this behemoth, every road bump made me feel that the interior was put together with spit and toilet paper.

Center console still looks like plastic GM crap. I never understood that, everything else about the escalade looks great and looked great in the previous gen..leather was nice, cabin roomy, strong engine, aggressive styling..but every time I look at that sea of plastic I can't help but feel like I'm not in a $100k vehicle.

it looks like cheap plastic in the pic but GM has been using this soft touch leathery material recently. Ive seen it in the new impala and ATS so im guessing same shit will be used in the escalade. Its a step up from the previous amount of shit quality materials used but still nothing to be proud of. I would rather have a GL550 for the same price range as a escalade.

I rented a 2014 tahoe for a Kelowna trip a couple weeks ago, and I found it incredibly gutless. Aside from very responsive steering, it was like driving a fucking marshmallow down the highway.
But :/ what happened to the glory days of Cadillac making the most luxurious, well built prestigious cars.
It died in the 60's.
Seriously.
Sorry...maybe they still had their thing going in the 70's, its just hard to tell in the decade of dreck of what stood out in terms of a sedan you could park your house in.
The 80's? luxurious and prestigious? no. They rebadged a cavalier and said 'fuck it, they'll buy anything" and people didn't. The eldorado was a fucking land whale for old men.
The 90's. They get a solid engine. The northstar is a solid, semi modern engine for the times. Build quality? Still crap.
The last 10 years has seen some great new caddies come out, but, while I think they are a better brand, I think they pale against the europeans in terms of quality, prestige and 'value' to their customer. And this from a person that doens't particularly care for euro cars.
