If you think that was an early stoppage... I don't even know how to respond to that FailFish

jonwon 07-12-2015 12:40 AM

You don't think Chad could've lasted 3 more seconds while fully blocking the remaining punches when he was covering up? The initial left was a bomb, but it didn't put him completely out; he also seemed to get up after without any help.

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2015 12:41 AM

Ask Chad if he thinks it was early

I get the Conor hate, but come on use logic

Did you think the Pickett stoppage was early too?

murd0c 07-12-2015 01:13 AM

Wow one of the best cards in a long time, I couldn't be happier right now

neggo 07-12-2015 05:08 AM

Chad was clearly hurt, even from the first round. He stood no chance striking with Conor, and it was pretty clear that Herb Dean made the right choice in stopping it. Chad himself wasn't protesting and was down for a while trying to get his senses back after the stoppage.

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2015 06:53 AM

Also anyone notice the new bodies? Everyone was a bit thinner and with a bit more bodyfat. Rory and Robbie both looked like they were fighting a weight class lower compared to their first fight.

The good news is, this had no effect on the quality of the fights! If anything, maybe since they have to train a bit less there will be less chance of injury.

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2015 07:01 AM

We've all seen a lot of MMA gifs but I think this is the worst one. Don't click it if you already feel bad for Rory

neggo 07-12-2015 07:14 AM

Rory got fucked up bad...He'll definitely be back, though.

Lawler didn't come out fresh either. His lip after the fight was GRAPHIC!

SkinnyPupp 07-12-2015 09:13 AM

You can't say he'll definitely be back. Fights like these have different effects on different people. No matter what happens, he'll be a different person probably, and probably also lost some years off his life.

Robbie is different, he thrives off this shit. Robbie Lawler is not like most people. The difference now is that he has great technique to go along with his mindset.

I won't be the least bit surprised if Rory retires, or maybe after a bad showing or two.

I'll be very happy if he comes back better than ever though, but man... that was fucking brutal.

dear lawd dat flying knee right on the money

This Flying Knee From UFC 189 Was Insane

Not really racist! 07-12-2015 03:24 PM

July 11th is the sacred day of MMA, the Gods have been given enough sacrifices to have had two amazing events.

RRxtar 07-12-2015 05:58 PM

Was camping this weekend so PVRed the event and just finished watching. HOLY FUCK what an event!

Feel bad for Rory. He didn't just lose the fight, he lost some of his soul. I don't know how you come back from another brutal finish like that. The Condit one was pretty bad too. This will show what kind of character he has if he comes back hungry or timid.

Robbie is a fighter whos always been a tough son of a bitch and is now getting the MMA skill set to go with it. Rory is an MMA-athlete with a great skill set, but not a fighter. Like GSP, but GSP was on another level and could out-MMA fighters.

Conor-Mendes went how I thought it would, except with Mendes looking considerably worse than usual.

neggo 07-12-2015 07:03 PM

Yeah, felt so bad for Rory...heart dropped when Skinny posted that gif of him all bloodied.

I like to think Rory will come back. He's a psycho, so he has to come back...right?

neggo 07-12-2015 07:20 PM

McGregor and Faber as next coaches for TUF but will not be fighting at the end of the season.

I suppose this allows Conor to be productive while healing his knee. Kind of lame that they aren't actually building to a fight though...

Also I guess I'll have to start watching TUF again... During their "random" scuffle Faber called him McBooger. If that's a preview of things to come, it's going to be the best season ever :awwyeah:

It was a good stoppage. Chad was beyond gassed. I wonder what would've happened if he had a full camp.

Same thing but in round 3 instead of 2

SkinnyPupp 07-13-2015 09:07 AM

What's more likely:

Conor vs Aldo happens this fall or winter, or;

Aldo finally gets popped, suspended for 3 years, and is never heard from again

He can only duck so many tests and fights...

GLOW 07-13-2015 11:15 AM

depends, are they gonna fight in brazil? :troll:

murd0c 07-13-2015 11:27 AM

If Aldo wants to act like a bitch like that he should be fighting in Ireland!!!

GLOW 07-13-2015 01:12 PM

think dana already said title fight in vegas and if connor wins it'll be in ireland.
diaz tweeted "i'll fight". imagine the trash talking during that fight if it happened :lol

Ch28 07-13-2015 08:09 PM

lol @ you guys underestimating Aldo

He'll be undefeated for 10 years this coming November and has beat every single possible contender thrown at him

Vegas is drinking up all the McGregor kool aid cause he's now a 2-1 favourite over Aldo :lol
