The only excuse I can think of for Dana/Lorenzo banning him was that they were the ones who told him about Brock in confidence OTR. If they told him and he went and reported him, then fuck him.
Otherwise he was just doing his job, and fuck them
Watch the MMA Hour today, the news was leaked by other sources and he was not told by Dana/Lorenzo personally. Ariel has always been adamant about not working directly for Zuffa so that he can be his own person and report via his personal standpoint. He is essentially what Woj is for the NBA and Woj gets praised all around for the work he does regarding breaking news. UFC will never reach the same level of major league sports if they keep up this shit. They're sending out the message that they want selective media where everything gets run by them first; essentially they don't want media, but an expansion of their PR. After the whole Conor fallout and now this, I see another drop in UFC's numbers back to where it was pre-Conor. Not even Brock is gonna save them.
lets be honest. the 75% of UFC fans who are casual fans wont even know about this, and about 80% of the people like us who do know, don't really care. Ya it sucks that Ariel lost his media credentials. Im not going to stop watching because of it.

It may not prevent people from watching that already follow the sport, but this will set them back even further from reaching the mainstream. And no exposure means less PPV buys and interest; they're just gonna be stuck in this little MMA bubble with no growth. Rich Eisen even refused to recap UFC 199 out of respect for Ariel.
Following a conversation with the editorial team at SB Nation, UFC will not prevent MMAFighting.com from receiving media credentials to cover live UFC events. We respect the role the media plays in our sport and beyond, including MMAFighting’s ability to report news. However, in our opinion, we believe the recurring tactics used by its lead reporter extended beyond the purpose of journalism. We feel confident our position has now been adequately communicated to the SB Nation editorial team.
UFC’s goal as the world’s leading mixed martial arts promotion is to cultivate interest in its world-class athletes and events, and deliver for the fans. We will continue to introduce this sport and its athletes to new fans across the world, and we will do so by working alongside media across all platforms.
You can say whatever you want about Kimbo, but to go from getting famous off back alley fights + being a porn company's bodyguard to main event fight cards is really fucking awesome
I don't think I've heard of anyone saying anything bad about Kimbo, ever. By all accounts he was a great guy. He was one of the biggest stars in MMA history, drawing bigger numbers than just about everyone. RIP
UFC is in a tight spot IMO, major scrutiny from media and fighters about pay, I'm guessing they desperately want to sell a large portion of the company before they finally have to start paying fighters *fairly*, they won't get the same premium if they their margins are chopped down.
I think it's pretty obvious that's why they punted Ariel, it wasn't for breaking news, it's for talking about fighter pay.

I just rewatched kimbos season of the ultimate fighter not too long ago. He was so humble and eager to learn. Seemed like a great guy that just wanted to train. RIP

He got a USADA exemption, plus he's been on the WWE Kool-Aid the past few years, so he should be primed and ready to go.
We all know Brock hates getting hit in the face so I expect the mother of all bull rushes to start the fight.
If he wins, and Overeem pulls out a victory at 203, then I could see Brock wanting that rematch. Not sure if that would work with the WWE and UFC though.
He got an exemption?? lmao how and why would that ever happen. Dana basically saying "yes he's on the sauce but we need him for ratings so Hunt you'll have to fight a juiced up beast"
He didn't get an exemption from testing, he got an exemption from the 4 month wait before a first fight after coming out of retirement. It's pretty obvious to see why this is fair in this case, and he is subject to testing like anyone else as of last Monday.
