its been killing the sport for years, pre fight weigh ins would 100% guarantee fights which will make it 10000x better to watch.... sigh

The_Situation 03-04-2017 10:00 PM

bullshit decision. even woodley's corner thought he lost

fliptuner 03-04-2017 10:47 PM

Yup. I had it at least 3-2 for wonderboy

RRxtar 03-04-2017 10:53 PM

I had it either wonderboy 3-2 or draw with woodley a 10-8 in the 5th. Judge Sal damato agreed

bossha 03-04-2017 11:04 PM

It was supposed to be 3 2 thompson or a draw cause of the 5th.

Cant believe how humble and composed wonderboy was after hearing the decision. Even woodley knew he fucking lost in the interview with joe.

SkinnyPupp 03-05-2017 05:17 AM

Wrong decision, but a very close fight so you can't complain too much. Wonderboy tried to do "just enough to win" and probably did, but judges gonna judge.

Overeem looked really good once again. One of the few fighters left who gets my heart pumping, and once again I scared the hell out of my cats when he knocked Hunt out PogChamp

Especially impressive considering

That also probably explains his bloated look

how would prefight weigh ins guarantee fights? You'd have less current weight cutting issues, but you'd still have a ton of guys coming in overweight, and then you have no time to let them cut more or to replace them

Berzerker 03-07-2017 10:14 AM

They will fight at a more natural weight. They won't be killing themselves just to lose that extra couple of pounds because you can't fight that depleted. So guys will likely change weight classes and be healthier all around. I think this will improve fights and missed weights. I mean honestly I really don't understand the point of letting 2 guys who weigh 200lbs cut down to 170lbs for weigh ins, only to come back the next day both weighing 190-200lbs. Why not just have both guys prefight weigh in and then your not killing your fighters and it's the same result?

G0rilla 03-07-2017 10:31 AM

They also desperately need another weight class. The jump from 205 to 265 is too crazy, maybe have something inbetween like 230 or something

Berzerker 03-07-2017 10:44 AM

There aren't enough HW fighters for that class as it is. Having another class would dilute it even more. Shit most of the HW fighters could make 205 if they really wanted to. Most of the HW fighters are just Fat guys these days.

Look no further than Conor's weigh ins

Berzerker 03-07-2017 04:35 PM

Precisely. Now think of the harm these guys are doing to themselves in order to do these crazy cuts.

Berz out.

RRxtar 03-07-2017 05:24 PM

The problem with pre fight weigh ins is guys who currently walk around at 175 and cut down to 155 for the weigh in and hydrate back up to 165, they will simply try to fight at 155 without hydrating back up That is the reason they moved the weigh ins to the morning instead of 4pm. To allow more time for fighters to rehydrate.

IMO, the weight cutting missed weight issue got way worse when they moved the weigh ins to the morning as guys didnt have all day to cut the last few pounds. They did it to be safer.

SkinnyPupp 03-07-2017 07:43 PM

The only way same day cutting would work is if they take out of competition weight into consideration, like they are trying to do in One FC. Because people are desperate enough for an advantage that they'd definitely dehydrate themselves just as much as before, but this time without the ability to rehydrate it would be extra dangerous.

Ben Rothwell popped hot with USADA for using marshmellow supplements

Berzerker 03-08-2017 10:09 AM

Do you really think guys would try and dry out to make a fight knowing they will be in terrible condition to fight? There is no way guys can fight like that. They can barely walk around sometimes they are so depleted. Even a day later a lot times.

Berz out.
